This wee cottage was the perfect getaway. Surrounded by rolling field and expansive pond. Blazing starlight unsullied by any city's light. If you go, you MUST hit up Burger Kitchen in Bowie, TX, (just a few miles away,) the BK Burger was fantastic, but the homemade onion rings were so good, neither my husband or myself wanted to share! In addition to a gorgeous, juicy burger that runs down your arm, Burger Kitchen pratices Southern hospitality by gifting a fresh fried pie to their patrons first visit!
The Cottage was clean as a pin and all the conveniences were so well thought out that there wasn't a wasted inch in this adorable tiny house.
They just installed a smart TV and WiFi was seamless. The A/C and Heater was efficient and ceiling fan refreshing.
Owner was very quick in responding if we had questions.
We're already planning a trip back!
Lets review the good and the bad. The Good: we walked in and were welcomed to homemade cinnamon rolls left by the owner. These were delicious! The directions to get there were clear. The property is super cute and I love to fish and caught several bass in the pond. The "Bad".. more like things to be aware of. There is no wifi or TV(these things are in the description so no mark down on the review) I did not notice when I was booking. Just be aware that the service is extremely spotty. We were only able to call and text sometimes. Periodically our hotspots worked. The only other negative was a big wasp nest that was up in the porch roof.the owner provided spray and offered to take care of it. I would say it is a bit overpriced for the amenities provided that is the reason for 4 stars. Otherwise it is a great little place to get away from it all.
