PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ALL, QUITE CHARMING, LARGE TABLE TO FIT EVERYONE
For the quantity of our gathering it was perfect, bathroom ratio to bedrooms was important for a female gathering. Large dining table allowed us to all sit together. For what little cooking we did we found what we needed. We loved using the serving dishes they had available to serve our meals. The dishes added a little elegance to our dining. Enjoyed the night time entertainment of mother natures animals at the feeders out the back windows. Location was convenient for shopping and dining in La Grange, TX. Had a Great time. La Grange is a very friendly and welcoming town.

It is really an old ranch house, sort of like an old hunting camp. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. The photos were glammed up, especially the "creek" photo. Its not an actual creek. Its what I would call a goldfish pond with a pump and a small water fall effect that is about 20ft long and 18 inches wide. The interior is a bit outdated with multiple wildlife mounts which are deteriorating and need to be restored. Spiderwebs all throughout the ceilings. The BBQ pit is charcoal, so bring some with you. The pond is cool and has a lot of small bass, all less than 10 inches.

Eric, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
- We designed the water feature as a landscaped pond with a small waterfall to create a peaceful setting near the screened-in porch. It's not intended to be a natural creek and isn’t described that way in the listing
- We’ve had many compliments on the lodge’s classic, rustic style, including the wildlife mounts, but we understand it may not be to everyone’s taste
- We’re sorry about the spiderwebs you noticed—this has been brought to the attention of our cleaning team to make sure it’s taken care of between each stay
- The charcoal grill is available for guest use, and we recommend bringing charcoal and any other supplies you’d like to use during your trip
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
We went with a rather large group; this place was perfect and accommodating! The first time i stay somewhere that had more then enough towels, blankets, trash bags, all paper products and toilet paper! Besides food; we didn’t have to buy anything. I hate to rent a place for a long weekend and they supply you with only 2-3 toilet papers. Also, the location was amazing! Bill made sure we had a great experience and our time there was so enjoyable and memorable!!!! 10/10!

This is a most unique property and we loved it! It appears to be a renovated old hunting lodge. We were three families and it easily accommodated us. Robert was helpful and easy-going. The house itself is pretty big with a 2 acre lake in the back and feeding stations - we were treated to raccoons and deer at night. The furnishings were out of your great grandparents antique store and comfortable. The master bedroom is massive with a fireplace. The kitchen is more than adequate and the living area is massive with a long table and a TV viewing area - btw, everything worked well. The other bedrooms are all connected so you have to travel through one to get to the other. All-in-all, we'd stay here again. It was a real treat and I would recommend to anyone who craves visiting a venue that reminds them of their great grandparent's home.
