Let me start off the positive! The contact was supportive and professional. The location of the home is wonderful! The layout of the home is also great. The kitchen was well-stocked with just about every gadget possible. There were plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, etc in case you don't bring your own. The foosball table was a hit with our family! They have pole holders for fishing off the deck, which were put to good use. We caught a massive crab and a couple different types of fish. The beds were comfy!
Now the reason for the 2 star review. When walking up to the door, the door itself was caked with filth, but we didn't think much of it. Upon entry to the home, we were immediately blown away by how nasty and stained the carpet was. Like actual stuff stuck to the carpet and stains where you can see someone just carried stuff from point A to point B in the home and it was not properly cleaned. The carpets look nothing like those pictured on the listing. There were dead roaches and very much alive ants throughout the home. We picked them up and killed the ants - thankfully didn't see any alive roaches while there. There were fish remains left inside the grill, which smelled TERRIBLE. (plus no grill brush to clean the grill once said guts were removed) There were maggots in the main trash can. Aside from easily addressing the items above, the only thing that threw off our sleep was the fact that the fan/light in the room with the queen and bunk was directly linked to the fan/light combo in the room with just the bunk bed. We prefer to sleep with the fan on high and the people in the other room wanted it on low - you couldn't do that - they MUST be on the same setting. The remote for each fixture controls the other regardless of whether or not you close the door when using it. Which also meant, when one room woke up and turned on their light fixture, that the light in the other room turned on and woke those folks up. Ideally the dock would have green lights for fishing versus the bright white ones. (there is also a sign not to cast into the neighbor's green light, so that was a bummer to the fisherman we took) Also, the bottom lock on the front door doesn't work.
We would recommend the place if those issues were addressed, because as stated the layout and location were awesome!
A little dirty upon arrival but we surfaced cleaned and vacuumed and it was good. The master bath was dirty but again easy clean. That was the negative!!Good location fun neighborhood at the local restaurant. The house is very comfortable, simple.

We loved where the property was located! Being on the canal was very fun. The property itself was very outdated and is in need of new flooring, carpet and decking. The house did have remolded bathrooms, so that was very nice. We would have enjoyed seating down by the water and the seating upstairs was not in good shape so we did not sit on it.

Hi Sydney, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
We are glad you chose our home and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We use professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect each property and guests can decide before booking if the decor and updates meet their expectations. The deck is on the newer end and we do recommend wearing shoes on the deck. We are so sorry about the seating, we are in the process of having replacements delivered for future guests.
We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback!
