  • Perfect Getaway

    5/5

Every year my husband and I take our 6 kids and 3 of my nephew & niece with us to our family vacation. This was our first year at the house as well as the first time being just us two adults with so many kids/teenagers. Everyone loved the house! The two fridges and ice trays inside each one was a big plus for us since we cook big amounts of food. The house was more spacious than what we expected from seeing the pictures which was perfect. The bedrooms all had big closets and plenty of storage. All the kids loved their beds they said they were soft and comfortable. Only downside for us was that their is only two bathrooms in the house with us being so many. And the downstairs shower water only came out hot. Unless we were doing something wrong. The house was close to the beach a couple of times we walked to and from the beach. It was about a block or less. But overall we loved the house and definitely recommend it. Only recommendation for the owners would be that if they had a complete downstairs bathroom it would be a great addition for those big families. It would beat having to go upstairs when you are at the beach

  • Great location and great space

    5/5

This house is in a great location. Easy to walk to and from the beach. (We rented a golf cart because it’s fun to drive up and down the beach.)

The three bedrooms are large and provide plenty of space for kids.

The living room and dinning area a big and provide lots of seating for family.

There are 4-5 boogie boards and 4 chairs you can use for the beach. The house also 4-6 beach towels that can be used as well.

  • Not what I expected

    3/5

The pictures look really nice, but the home itself did not hold the expectation of a nice place. I would say sub-par. Walking into the house there was a "smell" that I just could not place. When taking an inventory of the home the paint was peeling all over, the couch was basically molting with particles just coming off and so old it is likely going to come completely apart in a matter of a short time. The towels had a yellow color to them, the carpet was very dingy and rough, given that it was a long shag type of style it was just really gross looking. Everything was just old, and almost on its last leg. Then we go and see all the "rules" and the "check out list". This really surprised me. I was trying to run around to find coasters for a house that is supposed to sleep 10-12 and could only find 4 coasters and 3 more were glued to a table in the living room. This was pretty difficult to follow the rules when not provided with the tools. Then the check-out list surprised me, over a dozen items to do. Remove all the trash, remove sheets, start a load of towels, load and start the dishwasher, clean out the fridge, turn off the lights, clean the BBQ grill if you use it, etc. I get some of them, but for a $150 cleaning fee or so, I should not have to load the dishes and wash the towels. Also considering the amount of dirt and grime that was packed into the air intakes throughout the house. Especially the one in the kitchen, right over where you prepare food. I was just not impressed and it was pretty creepy that there were big locks on some doors and about half of the doors in the house could not be opened. When I did have a problem I got a call right away, and that was nice. The customer service was good, the house itself...is a hard no. Inside and out the thing was just going to fall apart it seemed.

It would have been helpful to have a phone number contact to the owner or property management before arrival. We were locked out for 40 minutes because the owner didn’t update the new lock box code on the website and failed to notify us that it changed, if the neighbor hadn’t come to our rescue we would have been locked out in the heat for more than 2 hours because that’s how long it took for someone to contact us with the property managers phone number. The owner only supplied an email and never ever emailed me back even after the owner called them, they could have at least emailed back that they were sorry for the inconvenience. The property manager did contact us about a power outage and kept us informed about updates about how long the power would be out, unfortunately it was off a lot longer than just a few hours it was off all night til 7am the next morning so our last night was very hot and miserable which made it very hard to sleep. The house was super nice as well as the area and very comfortable and spacious other than those 2 issues we had a great time.
