    4/5

The property is so pretty and spacious and clean. The neighborhood is very quiet. There is easy access to many places: south Padre island is about 40 minutes, the zoo is 15 minutes. If you plan to cook a meal, you may have to bring your own supplies. Not much to cook with in terms of pots and pans. Also, not much in the way of staples like spices. No dishwasher and we had to purchase a scrubbing sponge. No washer or dryer, which was not fun since we were here for six nights and had to re-use towels. We really enjoyed our stay, but felt the host fee was too much. Much more than other properties we’ve stayed at. We would stay here again.

    5/5

We really enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a funeral and the house was comfortable and large enough for family members to come by and visit. The dining table was roomy but more living room seating would have been appreciated. My husband is physically disabled and uses a walker. I know the house was not advertised as handicap accessible but all the doors were wide enough for him to pass through with his walker. The step into the house was a pretty high step but he was able to get in and out with assistance. The tile floors gave me peace of mind with our two dogs. Even though they are both house trained they are still dogs and accidents can happen. The patio had a nice little bistro table and chairs that we enjoyed. I appreciated there was an ice maker in the freezer. The king sized bed was comfortable. It looked like a regular coffee maker was pictured and no detail given so I took ground coffee but upon arrival we found it was a keurig single cup coffee maker. Fortunately, there was a single serve reusable filter so we didn’t need to buy pods. I can’t speak to how well the kitchen was stocked as we didn’t cook there but I will say it was difficult to see what the kitchen was stocked with because everything was in the lower shelves of the bar and hard to get to. Had it been my kitchen I would have arranged things to be more accessible. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, and some of the neighbors even waved while I was out walking the dogs. Overall, the house was comfortable and clean and we would definitely stay there again.

  • Good spot with helpful host

    4/5

Overall, a very nice place. Maria was more than accommodating for all of the things that came up. It's a relatively new build/renovation so everything is very clean. There were some key things missing - kitchen is bare bones outfitted. For a family that was expecting to cook meals there, it was difficult to find all of the standard kitchen tools there (can opener, hot pads, etc). If you're cooking, bring what you need (salt shaker, etc) If you aren't cooking there, no problem. There weren't any pillows on the master bed but again, Maria brought some by a couple of hours after we checked in. Also - please note that there isn't a washer/dryer as of July 2024. Also, no dishwasher in the kitchen, either. Shower water pressure is very low. Bring drinking water - the public water is not drinkable.

Overall, It was a good place to stay. Good value for the money. It was a good spot with a helpful host. Knowing what I know, I would stay again but be a little more prepared on my end first.
