• Great getaway in the river

  We had a relaxing time during our stay. The kids enjoyed the river, swings, running around outside and playing games. It was incredibly nice to have so many kitchen tools, spices, salt/pepper etc available. We often get to houses and they don’t even have salt! The owners are generous and kind.

• Annual Pre-Christmas Family Hill Country Getaway

  The property was well suited to entertain a family with grandparents, son and daughter-in-law with a 1year old and 3 year old. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee, paper goods, plastic ware, and everything you need to cook (we cooked the whole stay). Great covered patio surrounds back of house with nice large Weber Genesis gas grill that was clean and used multiple nights. Well stocked with games inside and outdoor swings, toys, and play equipment for toddlers in a grassy area under huge oak trees surrounding the house. Great access to the river down a gentle slope. We appreciated the well stocked wood pile as we had 2 campfires in the fire pit near the house and made S'mores. Easy access to property and house. The house is well maintained and comes as billed in the listing. Will return again, thanks for sharing this wonderful home!

• Excellent Family Vacation

  We loved our stay at the River House! The home is well-stocked with everything you need and more. The beds are comfortable and the seating areas all around the home make for such lovely times with family! The river was low when we were there but enough to dunk under a bit and the kids (teenagers) put the kayaks in the water and paddled around. The property is beautiful with all the large trees, swings, and large porch. We loved exploring Blanco and Wimberly. It was the perfect hub for our adventures. It was a wonderful stay! I can definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay!

• Perfect family getaway!

  Me and my family full of littles had such a fantastic stay at the River House! The house itself was cozy, cute, and well stocked with everything we needed plus some. And the outdoor spaces make this the perfect relaxing getaway!

  Having preschool-age kids can make stays away from home challenging, but we had such a good experience at the River House and were amazed by how kid-friendly everything was! The bedrooms have plenty of options for kids (space for a pack-n-play, safe bunk beds), there are so many toys, games, and activities available, and we especially loved that the river was accessible, but a safe distance from the house so that monitoring kids outside wasn't difficult. Our kids (ages 1, 3, and 4) had the time of their lives and are always asking when we can go back to the River House!

  We're so thankful for the time away together we were able to enjoy. Can't say enough good things about this rental! Definitely book it!
