  • nice house in a beautiful location

    5/5

We enjoyed our short stay here while visiting family nearby. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the house was clean and comfortable. There is no cell service here so be sure to have hard copies of your access instructions. We were not as prepared as we should of been and had to drive a bit to find signal to get the key code.

    2/5

I really wanted to be able to write a great review about this house, but I cannot. This is the only house available to rent within a hours drive of where my husband’s family lives. So it was slim pickings. Upon check-in, the house appeared to be decently clean. But as we started to unpack, I started to notice that they were cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs on the floor. The blind upstairs was broken. Tennessee in December can be warm or it can be very cold. Nowhere in the listing did it say there was no heat upstairs where four of the beds are located. Granted, the owner son did come by and offer us space heaters. With the danger of space heat starting fires I did not feel comfortable doing that especially with little kids in the house. So my husband slept upstairs and I slept downstairs with our children. There was an old bath sponge from a previous visit left hanging in the shower. The house was stocked with every day essentials so I wish I could give a five star rating just for that. The linens and towels appeared to be clean. I’m not sure when the last time anybody stayed in this house, but it had been quite some time since it had been cleaned and I wish that given the fact that there was almost a $400 cleaning fee associated with this rental that, somebody would have came and freshened up the house for us before we arrived. There is also a door leading to the outside in the downstairs bedroom where the children and I slept. I wanted to make sure that door was locked before going to bed but when I tried to lock the deadbolt, I realized it was a dummy deadbolt and there was no actual deadbolt on the door. So I opened the door and realized that the house had been previously broken into and the whole door frame had been kicked in and was pieced back together. There was no deadbolt, but just a handle lock on the door knob. I don’t feel as though that this is a safe situation or anything that any renter wants to discover when they’re staying there that somebody had previously broken into the house, and the door was not restored or fixed to the original safe condition. I really feel badly about leaving a not so great review given the fact that there’s really nowhere else to stay near my husband‘s family. But the amount of money we paid to stay in this house makes me sick to my stomach. I honestly would’ve rather driven an hour to Clarksville and stayed in a hotel.

  • Well Kept Farmhouse

    3/5

Besides some old signs of mice on the pullout couch this place was adequate for a stay in the area. It's an old farmhouse so I wasn't expecting much but the beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked really well.

    Manager's Response:

Chris, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:

    - We hope you enjoyed your stay overall and are sorry to hear you unexpectedly found mouse droppings. We are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences and are surprised to read your review as we were unaware of this issue during your stay. We have never experienced an issue like this either before your stay or since.

    - We encourage guests to reach out with any concerns while in residence so we have the opportunity to make things right - the local contact would have been happy to assist with any of these issues. That being said, we plan on looking into your concerns to ensure that future guests do not share your experience. Thanks for your valuable feedback!

    - We understand you were able to work with Evolve regarding the issue and provided documentation that granted a partial credit. Again, we're sorry that you experienced this issue during your stay and we hope the credit helped make things right.

We are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.

  • Overall it was a great place to get away from big city life

    5/5

The place was wonderful..it's an older house but is very nice..my only two complaints is if you have a cell phone that is not at&t you will have no phone service at the house but there is great internet so if you have wifi calling it will work great..my other complaint is the lay out..if you have small children and want to have any alone time with your partner this may not be the place for you.. overall we definitely had a good time and it was a nice getaway for me and my family...I would recommend to others..we didn't do much exploring as it was kinda cold and rainy most of the time but I think you could find some really cool places to explore around the area!
