  We arrived at the property at 6pm, 3 hours past check in, and Shawn (property manager) was just leaving the house after finishing his cleaning. He gave us the key to the house and I thought it was good that he was there because there is no security keypad as indicated in the check in instructions. We walked in and immediately smelled cigarette smoke. We hoped it was just that Shawn had been smoking, but no, the whole house reeked, the linens, the furniture...everything (now my suitcase and all of my clothes smell like smoke). There is no coffee maker in the house, which I see as a basic expectation. The sleeper sofa was terrible and unusable with only a bizarrely small 4'x5' blanket and no linens!. Fortunately my son was able to bring an inflatable mattress and linens. My son was appalled at the situation and said "Call them and get your money back and we can figure something out". My son and his girlfriend didn't have enough room for both me and his girlfriend's mom at their place, so it seemed like the best thing to do was to stick it out. I emailed Shawn about a coffee pot an hour after he left and he NEVER responded. Because the check in instructions talked about a SECURITY keypad, I texted him to see what I should do with the key before leaving. Once again, NO RESPONSE. To be fair, he did respond...after I returned home 36 hours later!I'm pretty sure he called because the "Evolve Team" told him to because I had called them and complained. I

• Unit needs major work

  We were told that there would be a lock-box but upon arrival there was no lock-box and so I called the number of the local guest contact, but no answer so I left a message and then headed out to our dinner reservation. Later I got a call back and was told there was no lock-box but that the door was unlocked. After dinner I went back to the unit and found that the door was unlocked and went in and was able to lock the door from within. We were told that someone would come by and put the lock-box up the following morning. We waited all morning but this never happened. We went out to lunch and had to take all of our belongings with us because we could not lock the door after we left. After we returned from lunch there was still no lock-box and so we again brought our belonging into the unit, but had to pack our things up again when we went out to dinner that night. In addition, there was a missing light switch right next to the front door and there were exposed wires. There was no smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm. The unit smelled of smoke. There were a couple of nice decorations, but many walls were bare with nail holes or nails or screws present, or TV brackets without TVs on them. The TV in the front room was sitting on a stand and there were 3 remotes, but none of them were able to turn on the TV. There were dishes present in the dish rack. There was dirt and/or stains on the kitchen cabinets. There was a completely missing kitchen cabinet drawer.
