The home is old, and while this isnt necessarily bad, in this case it works against the property. Some minor updates have been made to improve the guest experience, but more should be considered. Pros include newer appliances in the kitchen, a Roku TV and wi-fi, seating for six in the living room, laminate flooring in the kitchen, and good central heating and water heater. The cons include: 1. an unpleasant smell throughout the home that is common in older houses, 2. a worn out and damaged screen on the exterior door off the kitchen, 3. peeling faux marble covering on the kitchen counter, kitchen knives and cooking utensils that are in need of replacement, stained and dingy kitchen towels and dish cloths, 4. several burned out and missing light bulbs in light fixtures, 5. a broken drain stopper in the bathroom sink that makes the sink unusable. Addressing these issues could improve the guest experience quite a bit. I would also recommend adding bedside tables and lamps in the main floor bedrooms, adding a headboard to the queen-size bed on the main floor, providing a real dining table and chairs instead of the tiny foldable plastic table that is currently there, and replacing the toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom with one that matches the size of the bowl. The entire basement comes straight out of a horror film. Nothing short of a complete remodeling w/lighting upgrade would make this area even remotely usable.
