• Nice house

  We just left this rental. Rental was tastefully furnished. It had plenty of parking, a fantastic large covered deck and nice dock. View from house to dock/water was a little obstructed by trees, but the trees helped with shade at the house.

  There is a full-time tenant that lives in the separate entrance basement, but he/she was not there during the duration of our stay.

  It was nice to be able to tie our boat up to the dock and there is a nice boat ramp just a couple miles down the road.

• Perfect little lake house

  This house was perfect for our Father’s Day weekend trip to Lake Hartwell. The rooms and beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed. The big deck was wonderful to sit on in a rocking chair, overlooking the lake. The furnishings were stylish, practical and comfy. Everyone had a blast hanging out on the dock and swimming in the lake too. We loved it!

• Extremely Regrettable

  I was excited to get to the lake house and relax after my 6 hour drive, but it may have tarnished my desire to ever get a VRBO property ever again. Driving to the home leaves little to be desired. While the street itself isn’t too bad, getting there feels like driving through the hillbilly ghetto. The home is cutely decorated and check-in was easy. But, as soon as I opened the fridge to put away my food and run to the bathroom, I quickly realized the details were overlooked. The fridge hadn’t been wiped out, the soap dispenser was empty, the toilet paper roll was at the end and I had to dig to find new supplies. I shrugged that off until going to bed. I inspected the sheets and found a beard hair and eyelash. Then, I tossed the throw pillows onto the floor and out scurried a roach the size of a quarter! Next to the bed on the floor was some sticky residue and there were bugs and dust balls under the side tables and in the corners. I knew there was no way we could sleep knowing cockroaches were crawling around so we called the property company and the owner who promised a full refund. We left the home the same night we arrived and had to find another place to stay at the last minute. A few days later, I received a refund for less than 10% the total cost. The owner was suddenly impossible to get ahold of and after a few attempts to reach her, it was obvious she did not care to make the situation right. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this experience.

  Hi Kelly, this homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response: “We sincerely strive for every guest to have a 5-star experience. Although we weren't notified of any issues until after midnight, more than 8 hours after arrival, we promptly responded. The next morning, I contacted the house cleaner and the previous guest; both confirmed the house was thoroughly cleaned and exceptionally tidy. I then drove over an hour to the property and found it nearly spotless, except for one Palmetto bug, which is common in the lake area despite regular spraying. We always leave additional items for guests with a welcome booklet on the kitchen island, including toilet tissue, paper towels, sunscreen, bottled water, coffee, chips, and more. In the bathroom, there was a soap container that wasn't full, but an additional full soap container was available. It's common to have beautiful waterfront homes alongside less attractive ones on the way to the lakefront, though we understand not everyone may be familiar with this. We've had 100% 5-star reviews up to this point and will always do everything possible to correct any issues and provide excellent service, including taking calls after midnight. In this case, however, we were at a loss for how to improve the situation."

• Beautiful Home & Quiet Cove

  Enjoyed our stay! Nice Beautiful and Quiet home. Enjoyed the huge covered deck most of the time.
