You won't have to venture far from the property to experience a wonderful vacation! The cottage is surrounded by the forest, and is only steps from beautiful Crystal Lake. You can spend your days swimming by the dock, or bring your kayak out to explore the lake.

Whitewater Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the Eastern United States, is only 16 miles from the home. Bring your camera because you'll want to capture photos of this majestic destination!

Adventurous guests will want to try their hand whitewater rafting. The nearby Chattooga River offers class II through V rapids! For even more adventure, check out Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park.

Put on your hiking boots and explore the area by foot! The famous 77-mile Foothills Trail has several access points near the cottage.

After a fun day, head into town to listen to bluegrass music and dine on some tangy BBQ!

    The owner of this place we met. He's nice but here's my take on this. If you're interested in a good no frills base station to drop in and hike the nearby trails and see waterfalls, this place will do. Access to the lake is strenuous. Steep decline/incline. Kitchen appliances and cookware were old and outdated but functional. Small portable gas grill cooked 2 steaks at a time(bring your own screw on propane canister?). On the upside, peaceful, quiet ( when there's no contractors in the way) and a great rocking chair porch overlooking the woods below. Bed were comfortable. *limited cell phone coverage and very few and basic tv channels(if you have a child it could be of importance). There's is a DVD player. Around 10 miles round trip to grocery stores/restaurants.

    This is an excellent place to REST! Very quiet, trees are gorgeous and the lake is lovely. We slept so good and we will be back again! Nearby hiking was excellent, not too steep and not too easy...just right for us anyway!
