  Upon arriving to the unit about 20 min earlier than the check in time we received a message the unit was ready so we unloaded our luggage and headed up to start our family vacation. Upon entering the unit we noticed it was not clean and we checked all the rooms and came to the conclusion that it was not cleaned properly or with any care. We contacted the owner and a cleaning company was sent back out for a second try. We had to leave the room while it was being cleaned for a second time. When we returned we found that it was a little bit cleaner than before but still not great. We purchased our own cleaning supplies and deep cleaned the unit like it should have been. We washed all the linens ourselves to make sure they were clean. We put the issue with it not being cleaned properly behind us and tried to enjoy our trip. On the 4th day of our stay we noticed the hot water heater had burst and we notified the owner that it was flooding the closet it was in, we were advised a plumber would be coming to repair or replace it. When the plumber arrived several hours later around 5:00 he told us he would have to turn the hot water off and would have to return in the morning with a water heater to do the repair. The plumber returned the following day and installed a new water heater and completed the job around 1:30- 1:45. So we unfortunately had to go about 18 hrs with no hot water. We understand that things like this happen from time to time but we also know that things like this are less likely to happen with regular maintenance which was very evident that this unit doesn’t get regular maintenance nor regular deep cleaning.

  The pictures in the description of the unit show a freshly updated unit, but once you see it In person you can quickly see second rate work and craftsmanship to make it look good for pictures but it’s far from that in person.

  We reached out to the owner and the booking agency the week after our stay inquiring about compensation for the troubles in cleanliness and the maintenance issues. We were told that we would receive a fair compensation for the troubles. The owner decided that it was worth $111.00 for our troubles and asked us to give a good review in spite of the issues. This is an honest and fair review of our stay. Unlike the fair refund we received for the inconveniences. And the owner refused to give a refund for the total of even one night stay.
