    Thus property exceeded our expectatons. Super clean and neat and great location. Owner was very responsive with questions. This is a great property in place to stay. We enjoyed it.

  • False Advertising - Renter Beware!

    First off, the unit is NOT renovated!!

    According to the owner, slapping in a sections of cheap flooring, buying a low budget couch and mattresses 1-2 years ago is what she considered "renovated". If the unit was ever renovated, it must be 15-20 years ago...

    The villa and the rest of Evian was built in the late 70's early 80's and the falling popcorn ceiling, cracked walls and old windows will show proof of this. Some of the fixtures (shower and toilets) are still from the original build! The railings on the old balcony are also rusting out.

    Our Main Issue:

    Unfortunately, the unit wasn't cleaned properly before our arrival - the floors were disgusting and the balcony was full of debris/brush from falling pine cones and needles.

    To make things worse, a main sewer pipe got backed up while we were there which caused issues inside the unit . There was a horrible sewer gas smell from the laundry room area and the ensuite shower wouldn't drain.

    We brought our concerns to the attention of the owner and Evolve, albeit late in the week, and expected that they would handle things professionally and appropriately....

    Nope! We received zero compensation from them!

    Fortunately, we booked through Marriott Hones & Villas and they provided us a goodwill gesture (although a fraction of what we paid) because the owner wouldn't take responsibility or refund us.

    PS - The owner has a Ring doorbell camera that records audio/video. Yes it's supposed to be a "security" camera, but you will feel like you are the ones being watched and monitored! One day we got back from the tennis courts and received a text message from the owner within 2 minutes...we don't think this was a coincidence.

    This review is genuine and best of luck to anyone who stays in *Renovated* unit.

    Hi Mike, we're so sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your stay. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
    - First, we're really sorry if there was any confusion about our ongoing renovations. While we've made several improvements over the years, we'll make sure the listing reflects all the updates accurately.
    - The bedroom flooring was initially carpeted and has recently been replaced with Pergo flooring. The main stairwell has new carpet that is cleaned yearly.
    - The mattresses are good quality Saatva mattresses.
    - The couch was from a local furniture store on the island and a quality custom order.
    - We have replaced the mullions on several windows, and we are replacing the other windows one room at a time. We're also happy to repaint the windows if needed.
    - The popcorn ceiling has been removed in both bathrooms, the utility room with the washer and dryer, and the kitchen. The only rooms left are the living room and foyer.
    - We have painted the two bathrooms, stairwell, kitchen, and living room. We'll also inspect for cracks and repair them.
    - The tubs, although original, are clean and are lifetime cast iron. One is a soaking tub, and the toilets are new.
    - We are currently having the kitchen floor tiles professionally cleaned and grout sealed.
    - As far as the drain and sewer pipe, that was caused by tree roots, and the HOA resolved it a few days later. Although it was something outside our control, we're sorry this delay impacted your stay.
    - Regarding the Ring camera, it's only used for security purposes, as stated on the listing. We do respond to our guests' requests as soon as we're able, and we're sorry you felt our response was not a coincidence.
    - The outside deck had pine cones and needles due to inclement weather that happened after our guest contact had checked the home.
    - We'll request management to repaint the outside metal railing as we are on an island, and the salt water can be a continuous issue.

    Clean, large condo. Excellent location reasonable rental fee. Two issues: the pillows not very comfortable and would of liked a standard coffee maker instead of Keurig.
