• Breakaway After Christmas

  Two couples in their early 80’s stayed between Christmas and New Years in 2023. First, the good things: The location is beautiful and is just 15 easy miles from Anderson (28,000 people) where there are lots of restaurants and stores. There is lots of attractive indoor space, and it is very close to the lake, their boat dock and fire pit. There is a two-person indoor sauna, a nice den with a firm hide-a-bed, a great large new refrigerator/freezer, and a nice lightly traveled main road nearby that was great for walking to the east. Next, the small issues that we encountered: A hard floor (wall to wall carpeting would help), the shower curtain in the main bathroom was too short to extend below the side of the tub so that a shower would get water readily onto the floor so we did not use it. There is a second shower in the second bathroom that we all used that was fine,. Toilet seats were loose and poorly fitting, there should be an additional small storage cabinet somewhere to store food supplies, the curtain rod in the left bedroom easily fell off because it was just an uncapped metal bar, the TV was difficult to use (no simple channel system), the microwave does not hold dinner plates and only the 30-second button works (press multiple times for longer heating), the internet access and password sent from Encore was wrong but the correct codes are on the household water-use notebook on the living room table. We easily called our contact person, Sarah, as needed. Several of these things can be easily corrected by the owners.

• Great Lake Getaway

  Property was as advertised. Great location on the lake. Kitchen could use some more essentials like cutlery and pots/pans. But we managed ok. Dock is great as is the tiny community. Perfect for the family!

• Great stay! Two years straight.

  I don’t want to say too much good because we REALLY like the place and don’t want everyone else to start staying there! 😊😊

  This was our second summer.

  Love the dock, love the fairly easy route to the water down the walk, love the motion lights on that same walk, love the fact that the air works well in the home, love the second deck on the dock and the newly added cover, and love the solo stove on the top of the dock. Great swimming area and a nice cove.

  Only very minor suggestions ate that we would love to see the entrance area cleaned and spruced up just a bit with updated furniture on that area, and on the second floor of dock. The entrance is a very wooded area, which I am certain makes this difficult.

  We LOVED our stay, second year in a row.
