My family stayed in Warren to visit my daughter, who had just moved here. We like this place for the most part and plan to return.Pros: the location of this rental cannot be beat, just a short walk to numerous restaurants, shops and parks. If you plan to sightsee, it's an easy drive to either Providence or Newport attractions. The house has a well-equipped kitchen. Beds are comfortable. The two living room areas are cozy, and one has lovely old stained glass windows that look out over Main Street. The owner lives next door and is friendly but not intrusive.Cons: the layout of the 2nd floor is odd. One bedroom opens either into another bedroom or into a stairwell that is open to the first floor. The smaller living room/office is across the hall and not really connected to the rest of the spaces. And the stairs to the 2nd floor are very steep and curved. Anyone with mobility issues should choose the 2-bedroom downstairs unit instead.

    Manager's Response:

"Thanks so much for your kind words. We’re glad your family enjoyed the stay and appreciated the location, comfort, and historic charm of the home. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your review, and they wanted to share the following:
    - The layout of the second floor reflects the home’s 1760 origins. While one bedroom does connect to another, both rooms have locking doors to ensure total privacy.
    - The hallway outside the main bedroom connects to the living area, office, and stairs, which serve as a secondary emergency exit per modern code. We’ve made intentional updates, including a new safety handrail, to align with current standards while preserving the home’s historic integrity.
    - We fully agree that the first-floor unit is a better fit for guests with mobility concerns, and we’re glad to offer that option for future visits.
Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back!"

  • Great location

I highly recommend this home!! We stayed there as a family of six (2 adults, 4 kids) and had a very comfortable stay. The absolute best part about this place was the location— right on the East Bay bike path and next to a main strip of stores and restaurants. Warren is the best town for restaurants and you are in the middle of all of it. It was very clean. There were window units that kept the place very cool and blackout curtains that made rooms dark. Overall, we had a great experience!

    Manager's Response:

    From the owner:
"Thank you so much for your very gracious review. We were pleased to have had the opportunity to restore this 1760 house to continued use with modern amenities and to share the house with our guests. Since 1760, only two families have lived in it.

If you have the opportunity to make a return visit in the future, we would love to see you again. In addition to the unit two you were in, downstairs unit one is especially charming with built-ins, a much larger kitchen with dishwasher, walk-in pantry, a butler's pantry, and a huge all-season enclosed porch. It also features a formal and informal living room, as well as a stained glass window private work office.

Although the total size of unit one is larger than that of unit two, its configuration is only for two bedrooms and a maximum of four occupants. However, with advance notice, both units can be reserved together for up to ten adults, and the interior locks can be opened in advance for larger groups or family use."
