Pictures are old
2/5 It is a big place but it is not laid out well and outdated. The pictures do not show the current condition. It wasn’t dirty but worn. The outside decks are rough shape with nails and wood sticking up. You can’t walk out without shoes on. Very little decent outside furniture, bring you own chairs. There is a moderately trafficked road within a few yards of the house. Overall would not recommend for the price.

- The pressure-treated deck has been maintained over the years but is now showing signs of wear. It's scheduled for replacement in the next couple of weeks—we’re just waiting on contractor availability.
- We're transitioning to Trex composite decking, which should offer a more durable and low-maintenance solution moving forward.
- Had we known you were cooking extensively on the deck, we would’ve been happy to install veneer oak plywood to improve the surface during your stay.

5/5 A wonderful location with a unique, storied home. The location is right on Clarion river making it easy to dip in the cold rushing water. A favourite activity was driving five minutes to the damn outflow, and then tubing down the river back home. The area has lots of great places to explore and Bendigo State Park has a free community pool in the summer. St. Mary's has all the amenities you might need. The seclusion makes it easy to digitally disconnect, while the wifi helps for research and that quick work check-in. The home is big, with lots of space. The Hyde Murphy room is a wonderful hangout spot for all, for reading, games, or socializing. While some furniture is dated, it adds to the historic mystique of the home. Highly recommend!
