  • Great Location

    4/5

Location I give 5 stars. Great location close to shopping and restaurants. Nice neighborhood. 3.5 otherwise. We were there with our children and grandchildren and we found it not conducive for a large family gathering. Kitchen not well stocked air only in 2 rooms. Place was very roomy but little furniture. I imagine it is great in the fall and winter for PSU game weekends. But a hot July summer weekend not so much.

  • Clean but incredibly hot

I was in town for a week to attend a horse show and I wanted to bring my dogs with me. This home seemed like a good fit based on proximity to the show and space for my dogs. My stay was fine, with both pros and cons. I'll start with the pros -- very clean, nice/quiet neighborhood, washer/dryer, comfortable bed, and convenient location. And now to the cons -- my stay happened during the hottest days of summer (in the 90s). The home description stated it had window unit air conditioners. When I arrived, the air conditioners were not turned on and the house was roasting. There were only two units, at opposite ends of the home. Because of the home's layout, the unit in the living room only cooled the living room. The other unit was in the master bedroom. After 24 hours, with both units on high, the thermostat still read 80 degrees. I ended up keeping the bedroom door shut with my dogs inside the entire week. When I asked if it was possible to fix the issue to cool the rest of the house, I was told in the future it would be fixed but to turn the fans on (which I already had and they basically just circulated hot air). Thankfully it was only me staying there or everyone else would have been sweating. Additionally, the owners should consider adding rugs. The floors throughout the home are very slippery and my dogs slipped multiple times. I had to buy runners/small rugs to place throughout the home so they could walk comfortably. You need to go up about 7 steps to get to the living room and the steps are not carpeted. After slipping, my dogs were too nervous to use the steps, so we didn't step foot in the living room all week. Also, the water takes FOREVER to get hot and the water pressure is low. Ultimately, I feel like I could have stayed in a hotel for less money considering I mainly used the bedroom and bathroom. Unless they get the air conditioning straightened out, I would suggest not staying here in the summer.
