  We had a great stay at Sanderling Sea Cottages. We visited mid-October to avoid the crowds and had the beach more or less to ourselves. Accommodations were very clean and we had everything we needed. It is a dog friendly place so expect to see dogs! We were in a downstairs unit and did hear guests in the unit above us moving around but they were courteous so it wasn't really an issue. The cottages are located right on Hwy 101 which I suppose could be an issue, traffic and noise wise, but we were also right on the beach which was a priority for us. Check in and out was easy. We didn't have any issues so never had to contact management.

  Overall we were very satisfied with the Sea Cottages and would definitely stay there again.

• Perfect coastal getaway with dogs

  Stayed at this property with our two dogs to have one last vacation before our first child arrives. The property was clean and as expected. We loved the short walk to the beach. Located south of Newport made it feel like we weren’t in the heart of the tourist area. Waldport was a very cute town as well, you gotta check out the Whittier’s Workshop.

• Perfect Family Getaway!

  It was quiet, it was peaceful, there were whales, there were pizzas…very restful and relaxing! Could not recommend staying here enough if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing getaway.

• Nice unit but too many dogs

  Sanderling Sea Cottages unit 4 is a nice unit on the beach. The property manager is very responsive to inquiries. Evolve does a terrible disservice to the owner and manager by sending heaps of spam. The offshore Evolve staff is friendly but of no service. The unit was fairly clean. It appears the entire area is marketed to dog owners and as a result the cottages are somewhat overrun with dogs. It shows on the inside with all the dog slobber on the low windows and sliding glass doors. Outside expect a lot of dogs. We only had one that was aggressive but it really detracts from the stay and your beach walks. Expect a lot of dog crap on the beach and all the dogs are off leash. Nice kitchen but fairly sparse on utensils, but you can get by. Drip coffee maker really needs to be cleaned for the coffee to be drinkable. There are a couple of electrical issues so expect to reset breakers to make the heat pump and oven work. Our upstairs neighbors were pretty quiet but you could get noise depending on who is upstairs. Nice washer and dyrer, but lint filter had never been cleaned.

  We have been staying at this location for over 30 years (previous owners and units). The view is spectacular and the walk to the beach is easy. Unit #4 lower is beautiful and has many wonderful amenities.

  Pros: washer and dryer, cable tv, kitchen is well stocked, dishwasher, and the mattress is amazing! Close to many fun activities and sites to see.

  Con: as many have stated, you can definitely hear the people above you which wasn't a huge issue for us.

  We would definitely stay again and I would highly recommend for your vacation!
