Location Details

Couples who prefer active and adventurous getaways in the woods will be blown away by this cabin and its location along the McKenzie River. When you aren't snuggled up by the fireplaces, enjoying the view from the patio as you wave to rafters as they float by, or preparing masterful meals in the impressive kitchen, you can spend your time breathing in the natural Northwest air.

The Mckenzie River trailhead is directly across the river from the cabin. Make the short 3-mile drive and spend a morning hiking. You can also drive about 20 minutes to the Tamolitch trailhead where you can then hike 1.8 miles to Tamolitch Falls a spot where the river bubbles up from the ground in a crystal clear blue pool.

There are many other beautiful natural settings you can explore when you stay along the McKenzie River. The cabin is just 20 miles from Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls - amazing waterfalls in Oregon's Cascade Mountains. Your jaw will drop at the beauty of the white water plunging from these waterfalls. The gorgeous, 226-foot Proxy Falls is also just a short drive and hike from the cabin!

Don't miss out on your opportunity to witness the Tamolitch Pool, only 20 minutes away! The topaz blue color of the water is certain to take your breath away.

Other hidden jewels to discover in the Oregon wilderness include the Belknap Hot Springs and the Cougar Hot Springs. Both are within 15 miles of the cabin, and both provide a rejuvenating oasis for anyone who visits.

You've hiked, gotten lost in the beauty of mother nature, take a bath in the woods, what else could there possibly be available to do during your stay? Plenty! You can river raft, fish, golf at Tokatee Golf Course, and refuel at some delicious eateries!

Some favorite dining spots include Takodas Restaurant serving casual American cuisine, McKenzie Station Espresso for raved-about sandwiches, and Obsidian Grill for fresh, locally sourced food. When you're full and happy, venture back to the cabin for a cozy night in by the fire.

  • Home on the river!

    5/5

We really enjoyed the quaintness of this home literally right on the river. What a nice relaxing stay. 2 master suites and 1 extra 1/2 bath make this a really great place for 2 couples and maybe a couple of small children.

  • Absolutely stunning

    5/5

I searched for over a month for the perfect, quiet, romantic getaway and landed on this house. It was absolutely perfect. The only unwelcome noise was from the highway across the river but it was drown out by the constant flow of the river and very light traffic in the morning and evening hours. The house was perfect for cooking and relaxing. The fireplace was gorgeous and great for evening relaxing. No cell reception (at&t) and no TV which was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle. Internet connection was good so we could play music while we cooked or open the back door and listen to the river. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to relax with gorgeous views!

It is awesome sitting on the deck watching the McKenzie River flow by. The house is close to a few gorgeous attractions. Thankfully this area was spared from the nearby fires of 2020.

  • Nice to get away

    5/5

Nice place, the river is very calming. Everything was perfect except the squirrels that decided to torpedo pine cones on the carport roof every morning at 6am. Would definitely stay here again.

  • I love this house!

    5/5

I have stayed here multiple times and absolutely love staying here. The view of the river is gorgeous. You have a beautiful creek that runs in front, with the larger river flowing behind that. Large living room with lots of seating, though the porch is the best view in the house. There is reliable, steady Wifi. It is good enough for video conference calls, though there is a slight lag on video calls. The Wifi happened to go out unexpectedly on one day during my most recent stay, but that has never happened before. No TV at this property. Can't recommend enough, and can't wait to be back soon!
