I had a few problems with the rental. First of all, the keypad wasn’t working properly and it took me about 15 minutes to enter the cabin. By the 2nd evening, the keypad would not lock at all on the outside. I had to pack up my stuff and bring it with me every time I left. When I first arrived, the towels were unwashed in the washing machine annd I couldn’t take a shower, and bed linens were on the floor waiting to be washed. The toilet paper roll had only a couple winds on it, enough for one pee. The kitchen garbage didn’t have a bag in it. I immediately had to go to the store to buy laundry detergent, toilet paper, and kitchen garbage bags.
Also, there is something or somethings living under the cabin. Every night it was scratching and bumping all under the bedroom and kept me awake.
Every thing else was fine.
Hi Denise, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize for any issues you encountered during your trip. After reviewing your feedback, we reached out to the homeowner, who provided the following clarifications:
-As the homeowner, we were not informed of these issues until after your departure. We provide detailed instructions for operating the door, and we have not received similar concerns from other guests.
-Our cleaning team was in the process of transitioning between staff, and the previous cleaner, who was let go due to concerns about the quality of their work, had not completed the cleaning before your arrival. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
-As the homeowner, I was away on vacation during this period. This unfortunate timing coincided with the transition in our cleaning staff and the issues you experienced. We understand the inconvenience this may have caused and are taking steps to ensure that similar issues do not arise in the future.
We strive to ensure an exceptional stay for all our guests and look forward to welcoming many more satisfied guests, as reflected in our numerous 5-star reviews.
This little cabin is a treasure. It's so cozy and comfortable and really well appointed with a Caribou theme nodding to the road it's located on. It is super clean and the kitchen is well equipped for creating whatever level cooking you want to do. The enormous bed is super comfortable. The main room has 2 comfy couches and a vast library of DVD movies.
Overall, this is a really nice place for a quiet, restful rustic getaway.

Had business to attend to in the area. This offered what we needed to work some and be comfortable . No internet but hot spotting your phone allows you to get emails and other things done. No TV but a nice library of DVDs to watch. It is an older cabin and hasn't been updated for years (if that's important to you).

My husband and I were finally able to participate in the Ride the Rim cycling event at Crater Lake after originally planning to in 2020. We were happy to find this cabin in La Pine, which was conveniently located since we came from the north, and had an easy hour drive to Crater Lake the morning of our ride. It had all the necessary amenities and was very clean. The beds are very soft, which was the only downside, but we managed a few good nights rest. Make sure to bring headlamps in case of power outages. The decor was very cozy and inviting. The instructions for use and cleanup were easy and straightforward. We were happy to find a tin of coffee available for the coffee maker, and other staple dry goods in the cupboard. We had a great ride and lovely stay at this cozy cabin in La Pine!
First the front door would lock except from the inside. So we had to take anything of value with us every time we left. And the bed smelled a bit like urine, luckily we always bring sleeping bags just in case of something like this.
