• Great location but Stove did not work correctley

  The property was in a great location with a great back yard.

  The stay could have been better if the stove top control numbers could be seen and the burners did not get so hot. It was very hard to cook on. The bath tub diverter did not work and there was no way to plug the water so kids could take a bath. The host was very nice. Hope the stove and tub shower will get fixed so I can give it more stars next time.

  -The light switch under the microwave controls the light under the stove hood that lights up the top of the stove and the stove control panel. That light makes it much easier to see the knobs on the stove burner controls.
  -We will be visiting the property soon to address the issue with the bath tub plug and ensure it’s working properly.

  Safety issues include: oven was not functioning, shades pulls throughout house were dangling, outdoor railing space was wide- not up to code,switch for downstairs shower was behind the water heater and a unit marked ‘hazardous’, Light above downstairs bathroom sink was two bare bulbs.Outdoor chairs were rubbish, dryer filter was already packed with gunk/lint. I Bedding for pullout was stained, had holes, pillow disgusting…I can provide pictures to substantiate the above if needed

• Not what Yikes!

  After 6 hr drive with three kids under 6 yrs, four adults, arrived to find oven not heating our dinner. Repairman came next evening, parts had to be ordered. Had to invest in three nights of meals for 7 we had not budgeted for.

  Railing around entire house was not to code( wide spaces, so no toddlers allowed there.

  Pillows, sheets and bedding for downstairs pullout were pulled, worn, stained.

  Light for downstairs shower is on a wall behind water heater next to unit marked ‘ hazardous’.

  Wanted to sit out in beautiful back yard- plastic chairs were broken and fungus was coated. Rubbish.

  Location was great!

  Will not stay or recommend for families. Safety factors including dangling shade pulls everywhere ( lots of windows.

  Hi Jan, we appreciate you sharing your experience, and we’re sorry your stay didn’t meet your expectations. After discussing your feedback with the homeowner, they wanted to address the following points:
  -Unfortunately, the oven’s heating element failed during your stay. While it worked fine during the owner’s last visit, we recognize this caused significant inconvenience, especially with kids in tow. A repair was arranged as quickly as possible, with the part replaced shortly after your departure. The homeowner also provided a partial refund to help offset the extra meal costs.
  -The deck and balcony were built to local code, though we understand that safety standards can evolve. We’ll review the railing setup and explore options for added peace of mind, especially for families with young children.
  -We’ll be inspecting and replacing any worn or stained linens in the downstairs closet to ensure all bedding meets our quality standards.
  -The location of the downstairs shower light switch is less than ideal, and we agree it’s not the best setup. While relocating it would require significant renovations, we’ll be clearly marking it to improve safety and visibility.
  -The outdoor chairs should have been replaced sooner, and we apologize that they weren’t up to par. The homeowner is actively working on replacing them with more durable and comfortable options.
  -The window blind cords are placed high enough to avoid easy access by children, but we appreciate your concern. We’ll be adding a cautionary note in the welcome book to ensure families are aware.
  Thank you again for bringing these details to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope future guests will benefit from the upgrades and changes we plan to make.

• Multi-Generational Family Reunion

  The house was well-equipped and provided beautiful views of the ocean through the full windows in the front room. The back yard was stunning! A lush retreat for play and photos. The kitchen is well-equipped with good quality pots and pans -- it had everything that we needed for our stay. The location was great, as well. Far enough from the city to be peaceful and close to the easy trails and spectacular views of Cape Arago. The property manager was responsive to requests and the home was 'generally' clean. Cleaning crew missed old food in dresser drawers (then again, why would anyone keep veggie straws in a dresser??). Though clean towels were hung on the racks, extra towels and linens (for the sofa beds) were disorganized and hard to find; Extra pillows and blankets were on the closet floor; basically looked like things had been thrown into closets and cabinets at the last minute just to get them out of sight. Complimentary toiletries were a nice touch! All in all a fantastic property! (just needs a better trained cleaning crew)
