• The Good vs The Bad

  I wish I could rate our experience 5 stars because the home is beautiful.

  The Good: This is a luxury home (somewhat outdated & starting to show wear). The beds are comfortable. The house is well stocked with staples and supplies you don't find in most vacation homes, such as q-tips, cotton balls, cotton pads, sugar, flour, spices. There is a big TV in the living room. Plenty of seating in the living room. There are 3 single kyaks, a paddle board, and a 6 person raft. There are some rafts, but not many for large adults. There are a few bicycles of varying sizes. There is at least 1 electric bike but the tire is flat. We couldn't find the tools we needed to inflate the tire. The property is located in a small, quiet community that is regulated by an HOA. Their is a lovely patio and the backyard is unfenced with a natural, low maintenance design. There is a community path running along the side and back of the house. It's a nice path to walk, run, bike, etc. From the living room/ dining area windows, we frequently saw people using the path. The community dock is a short walk from the house. It's a snall but nice dock. You can't see much of the river from the house, but it's on the other side of the path. The current is stronger than it looks, especially when it's windy. The private hot tub comfortably seats 4-5. There's an enclosure around the hot tub which blocks the wind but also blocks any view. The hot tub cover is very heavy. We did enjoy using the hot tub. The jets are strong.

  The Bad: The house wasn't especially clean. I found a great deal of pet hair on the couch and it was evident after looking under the cushions that the couch isn't being cleaned or vacuumed between guests. The soaking tub in the master bedroom hadn't been cleaned. The carpet didn't appear to be very clean.

  There was zero communication from Evolve from the time of check in. No one reached out to ensure things were going well and no one responded when I communicated about the dirty couch. The home instructions aren't sufficient to utilize all the amenities that come with the property. No directions on location of the community pool. We ended up asking the neighbors. No instructions for how to use the outdoor fireplace that's located on the patio. The smoke alarm went off after a shower on our first morning, which scared my son. The fridge doesn't get cleaned out between guests, which potentially leaves a bunch of expired, contaminated food in the fridge, taking up space.
