The home itself is lovely and accurate to desc and pics; outdoor living is especially nice, but there are some important things to know:The house next door that shares a fence is a daycare. Our purpose was to see my grandma and spend most our time at the house relaxing, but the daycare runs all day outside w at least 12+ kids, I know this bc hot tub is less than 1 ft from fence and u have a direct sight line to play area when u step up to access. Also sleeping in wasn’t possible bc they are there and ready to play by 8:30 even w windows closed. While owners can’t control neighbors, it’s unacceptable not to inform. This place could be great for families w young kids, or those who don’t plan on spending daytime weekdays at the house, bit not a good fit for our family. House itself- v nice, spacious, clean, lots of games, and besides the daycare, the outdoor area is really excellent -although also note you can’t swim in the river directly from the home. But no welcome packet on how to use things in the house, grill was too dirty to use and a smoke detector went off at 3am which put us in a panic and hard to go back to sleep -the owner was v responsive in these instances, but his response was very, sorry, but these things happen. Of course they do, we are a flexible and understanding group, but more thoughtfulness in responses and more up front in description would have made all the difference for us. We unfortunately wouldn’t recommend until they improve above

My mother and visiting sister from Washington DC took a mini break from Portland, OR and stayed in this lovely house on the canal for a few days. It is well located, just minutes away from great restaurants in downtown Bend as well as grocery shopping should one choose to cook in the spacious kitchen. The house is very comfortable, with plenty of light and beautiful views of the canal from the whole expansive open plan ground floor and upstairs bedroom windows - it felt spacious and cosy at the same time. All the bathrooms are large and accommodating even when shared, and the master suite downstairs is perfect. The upstairs work area is effectively laid out to provide some privacy whilst still connected to the rest of the home, and was used for a few early morning work sessions (strong wifi). While only one of the many TVs was used, we appreciated the possibilities. The morning coffee and early evening cocktail hour spent on the deck watching the ducks and geese do their thing was the best!

We were in town for a lacrosse tournament at Pine Nursery Park, you can't find a better place within such a close distance. The Deck and Canal were awesome for hanging out in the shade after a long day.
Has all the amenities a family needs.
Two colleagues and I stayed for three nights for a work trip. We did not realize that Bend was having its Summer Festival the weekend of our trip and were surprised to find very few hotel rooms available. We found this home offered on VRBO through Expedia and chose to give it a try.
We were pleasantly surprised that it lived up to the advertisement! There was enough space and rooms for us to have our privacy and also enjoy the property. We BBQed the first night, played corn hole, and hiked along the canal. The home is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The back deck and yard are beautiful. The kitchen is large, and the rooms are very comfortable. We would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.
