The Painted Lady earned her name for the vivid blue exterior which stands out in a quiet NE neighborhood overlooking historic Astoria and the Columbia River. The second story apartment has high ceilings, multiple tall windows and a Victorian ambiance. The kitchen and is a wonderful place to gather around the dining table for good food, conversation and views of the marine traffic below. Except for the dim bedside reading lights, it was perfect. Come prepared with food and drink because the closest grocery stores and restaurants are a minimum of a 10-minute walk away.

Great location just a few blocks from the Goonies house in Astoria - perfect place for a fan to stay! Beautiful property, perfectly situated near grocery store, nature trail, places of interest yet still quiet and peaceful.

Old Victorian home converted into an apartment. Furniture is old and worn out. Mistresses very uncomfortable. Lots of stairs to climb.

We had a wonderful stay (4 adults) and hope to visit again once the bathroom construction is completed. The house is well stocked with all of the essentials (and then some!) and the rooms are clean, comfy, and charming.
Charming Victorian style decor. Quiet and comfortable.
We found that the kitchen was cramped. Preparing food was difficult as there was only minimal utensils.
Lots of steps to access home. Not recommended for older folks to climb.
Beautiful view from kitchen!
Repairs needed in bathrooms.
Downstairs neighbors were great!
Pleasant enough, but pricey for what we got in return.
Hi Teresa, we're happy you found the home to be comfortable and that you enjoyed the charming Victorian-style decor! The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
- Unfortunately, multiple house rules were broken during this stay including the maximum occupancy limit and the ban on large gatherings. While we want our guests to enjoy their stay here, we also expect them to respect our house rules and treat the property as their own.
- This booking disclosed that only 1 adult would be present. As is standard for vacation rentals, the homeowner provides supplies for the maximum occupancy allowed at the property, which is 6 guests. We see you had 13 guests at the home. In this case, guests may have to purchase additional supplies, especially for larger groups.
- The listing does state that there are steep stairs at this property, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs.
- While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have an enjoyable stay!
