  1st owners were very friendly couple and welcomed me with a fresh loaf of banana bread..We were aware that owners were on property, what was not clear is they are actually inside the living space. This made it very uncomfortable for everyone in the family.The listing states "homeowner lives on-site in private suite attached to the main house"...This is not the case... The actual Bar/Kitchen they use is actually apart of the living room area where the family was visiting and watching TV..Everyone in the family felt like we were squatting in someone's home.Host could see and hear at all times.This seems more like a B&B NOT a rental..Upon arrival wife was in the kitchen putting dishes away..One side of sink was full of clean dishes, the other was full of dirty water, that I had to drain myself.. Fridge and freezer had their food in it and had a rack in the freezer and a the top shelves of the fridge for our things. It did not feel like a vacation home, it felt as if we were visiting complete strangers.While I was cooking in the upstairs kitchen host was 20ft away cooking in their kitchen, very uncomfortable.I was told we would not know they were there but several times wife would walk through the house, out the front door, in the front yard. Husband took us to another piece of property to shoot guns, very nice man and pleased he took us there but he stayed with us. This was our family xmas we get 1 weekend a year to spend together & we didn't get that alone time this

  From the owner: Our listing is a fairly large estate with many vacation activities available; therefore, we live here and offer those opportunities to our guests with helpful assistance. We are secluded, and only if we quickly get something from our private kitchen are we even in the guest’s visual presence.
  
  This is in our listing arrangement. This guest informed me she had more than adequate refrigerator and freezer space. They arrived early, so I was not completely finished with the main kitchen, which is used by our guests during their stay.
  
  The offer of a shooting range and privileges was free and hopefully enjoyable to our guests; it is several miles away from the rented property. That is why he stayed with them. Roads are a little non-descript out here!
  
  We are extremely careful not to interfere or intrude with any of our guests, unless asked or invited. We have been in business for over 20 years and were a Bed & Breakfast the first 15!
  
  We are extremely hurt and disappointed by your review. We respect our guests and would never infringe on their privacy. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

• Most Accommodating & Fun Hosts!

  We stayed in this property for a nearby event and it worked perfectly for our group. The homeowners were very accommodating (items accessible in home & ride to the airport), helpful (dinner recommendations, etc.) and enjoyed hearing stories about our day. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area. If we return for our event next year, we will rent here again, no questions!

• Nice home and location but hosts/owners are present and active through the entire stay.

  The owners have been running this home as a bed and breakfast for over 14 years so they are used to being interactive and present throughout your stay. However, we did not know that before we booked. They are very present and their "space" is right off the main kitchen area and can hear and see everything. The bar area in the pictures is theirs, guests are not allowed to use it. We had a lot of trouble with lights, electronics, and heating and cooling. There are no signs anywhere and you have to ask the owners how to run everything. The location and the property were beautiful and had everything we needed. She even set up massages for us 7 women, in the "love shack" one day. Overall, great stay but would not return if the owners/hosts were present.

• Not what we wxpected

  The property owner stayed in the same dwelling as us. They also put a 10:30p curfew on the pergula advertised. We had no time away from property owner, other than if we stayed outside by boating dock. Not satisfied with vacation at all! We had to go an hour out after arriving, because we were told we would need trash bags, paper plates, utensils. Not like any other experience we have had using this app. Smh

  Hi Joe, these homeowners work hard to provide an ideal stay for all guests, and they were sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your visit.
  - We note in the listing that the homeowner lives on-site in a private, attached apartment. They are happy to provide assistance or tours of the property if desired but will, of course, respect their guests' privacy as well.
  - The owners let us know that they provide plenty of silverware and dishes in the kitchen, just not paper plates or plastic utensils. They also supply a starter amount of trash bags.
  We are sorry if this was not the right vacation home for you. We look forward to hosting many more wonderful stays here!

  By far the best place we have stayed at! We will definitely make this a once a year trip. The scenery was breathtaking! Just want to add that the owners were on the property during our stay and they were loving and caring people! (:
