  7 night / 8 day stay -

  Positives: close walk to downtown, parking, inside trashcan was cool - but only one trash bag liner provided.

  Negatives: couch is just gross - material and shape; nice frig but ice maker does not work or is not turned on; 1 kitchen towel (8 day stay); 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper (wow); no washer / dryer - too costly a place to not have them; walked in to kitchen blinds open and people camping in the backyard - shocking; no garbage disposal; no fan in spare bedroom; 4 bath towels (7 night stay - wow); TV pretty difficult to understand; front porch not usable per pictures on VRBO - windows painted shut so very stuffy room; no salt shaker.

  Issues: toilet seat plastic bolt sheared off - we purchased part and replaced it and left the spare parts on kitchen counter, and also informed host of the fix/repair.

  Suggestions: make a basket for entry with some helpful suggestions like where local laundry is, how to use the TV, a kind welcome note, make a snack and a couple bottles of water;

  Stackable washer/dryer in entry kitchen closet;

  Disposable to-go coffee cups with lids;

  More towels/linens for kitchen and bathroom;

  Ice trays PLEASE;

  Dish detergent;

  NEW COUCH.

  I rarely give other than a 5 for review. I would not stay in this house again for the above reasons. It has potential but seems the rental agency is not doing their job to make it a VRBO like vacation place.

  -The unique shape and material of the couch have been appreciated by other guests, but we understand that comfort is subjective. The homeowner plans to have the couch cleaned and is considering reupholstering or replacing it if necessary.
  -The ice maker was tested before and after your stay and is functioning properly. We’re sorry for any inconvenience you experienced with it.
  -We provide standard quantities of towels, toilet paper, and paper towels based on the length of stay and number of guests. As is standard in the vacation rental industry, the owner provides a starter amount of toiletries and other essentials, and once that amount is out, it's typical for the guest to purchase more supplies.
  -The listing does not advertise a washer and dryer as an amenity. There is a washer and dryer available in the basement, typically reserved for long-term guests and the owner would have been happy to let you use it had you reached out during your stay.
  -Unfortunately, although we work hard to provide a great environment for all guests, external factors like the neighbors are simply out of our control.
  -There are extra fans available in the closet at the top of the stairs, just a few feet from the spare bedroom.
  -We will consider adding more detailed instructions to ensure that future guests have an easier time with the TV. We have not had any complaints regarding the TV before.
  -The home is over a century old, and while the windows on the porch are not operational, the screen door can be opened for ventilation.
  -We do our best to stock the kitchen with essentials, though specific items like salt shakers may not always be available. We appreciate your suggestion and will look into it.
  We also want to thank you for taking the time to repair the toilet seat during your stay. The homeowner acknowledges this and would be happy to reimburse you for the part if a receipt is provided.

• Excellent home in the heart of Willoughby

  We were so pleased with our stay at this property! It is in the perfect location with an easy walk to downtown Willoughby. Home was exceptionally clean and cozy!
