• Walnut Lake getaway

  Great time for a long weekend getaway with my husband, son and his girlfriend. Beautiful location right on the lake. The property is so well maintained. The cabin has everything you need and more. The trails are well marked and easy to hike. Andy the host is very nice and will address any needs or questions you may have. Wood is available for sale (for cash) on site for bonfires. Can't say enough good things about our stay at Walnut Lake. Will be returning.

  The overall experience was great. My sisters and I had a good, relaxing time fishing and enjoying the scenery once we got settled in. The outside area was amazing. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the cabin and lack of attention to it. The ac unit was covered in such thick dust that I had to wipe it off and then noticed what looked like mold on the vents of the ac unit. All of the fans were loaded down with years of dust. We couldn't even turn the ceiling fan on, nor the upstairs fan. I had to clean the bathroom/shower. There was hair all over it. All of the appliances were dirty, along with the dishes and utensils needing cleaned before we used them. The grill was so dirty that we couldn't get it to stop smoking enough to even use it. The beds were also so hard and lumpy that we didn't get much sleep. I tried to reach out through email, twice, to the owner, and never did get a response. I didn't want to bother him with a phone call because it wasn't of that importance. However, if I'm going to spend nearly $700 for 2 nights I expect a little more detail to the cabin. It did hurt a little to see such high charges for lack of detail to cleaning. After all of that being said though, it is a wonderful set up with the lake, trails and the seclusion of the area with no one else being around. I'm glad we got the chance to spend a couple of days there.

  Absolutely the best time, the house is so nice and clean and Andy thought of everything! We didn’t even have to go anywhere, the seclusion was our favorite part, no neighbors, no one close we LOVED IT!!

  11/10 Stars – Absolute Paradise!

  We have found our absolute happy place. If you are looking for total seclusion, untouched nature, and complete peace, look no further. We booked the cabin for 5 days, never left the property once to do any of the Hocking Hills attractions, it was simply too hard to leave! We are already planning to return, for at least 10 days next time.

  Here is why this place is an absolute gem:

  • Complete Seclusion: We did not see a single other human being for 5 whole days. It is incredibly quiet, peaceful, and private. (Andy, please never build another house on this lake!)

  • The Lake, Fishing, & Boats: Outstanding fishing at literally all times of the day. Having two boats available for guest use was an incredible bonus and made being on the water even better.

  • Top-Notch Amenities: The cabin was spotless, check-in was incredibly smooth, and there is a super nice Weber grill on site that we used constantly.

  • Epic Views: Waking up to the lake and surrounding nature every day was spectacular.

  • A+ Host: Andy is a solid, fantastic owner. He is right there on the ground if you need him, but completely respects your privacy and lets you have your space.

  There is absolutely nothing not awesome about this place. We will 100% be back!

• Weekend Away

  In the midst of a chaotic holiday and birthday, this was such a wonderful get-a-way. The cabin was so clean and had everything I needed. I had the best time waking up and walking the dock to see the sunrise.
