  The rooms were clean and cozy. It was exactly as described. No surprises. The owners were non-obtrusive and only came to see us when I sent a text saying I'd like to meet them. Very congenial. Hope to stay again.

  Nothing about this rental is private. The minute we stepped on property, we could feel the eyes. There is a door that separates the main house from the rental and the owners control the lock. The bed is bowed, old, and cheap. When we decided to leave (less than 5 minutes) the owners were pulling into the drive way checking on us. Beyond uncomfortable. My dad tried to stay here also (the next day) and said he could hear them in the hallway listening. Needless to say we both stayed in hotels. I would LOVE my money back, but lessoned learned.

  Hi Shannon, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
  
  - The listing does note that this is a shared property, and guests have their private entrance and deck to ensure a sense of separation and comfort.
  - The door separating the guest suite from the main home remains locked unless otherwise coordinated, and the owners do not access the guest space during stays.
  - The bed is a standard queen, and while we haven’t had similar feedback before, we will inspect it and replace it if needed.
  - We explained that they arrived shortly after your check-in only because they were made aware of your early departure and wanted to check in to understand your concerns.
  - We also noted a potential mix-up in your booking, including a request for a king bed and a higher occupancy, which doesn't align with this listing.

  We enjoyed our stay, the location was good for our activities. Most of the amenities were great except for the bed and pillows. Both need updated, as we found ourselves funneling to the middle of the bed, and not much support from the mattress, it felt like we were sleeping on a pullout. Other than that, the place was tidy and had everything we needed for our stay.
