• Amazing home! Can't wait to come back!

  This rental was our "home base" during a ski trip to Whiteface (only a few minute drive from the mountain). Everything about this property is well thought out and makes you feel like you're at "home away from home." Owners were available to answer questions beforehand and even popped over during our stay when we had an issue with one of the circuit breakers. Would give more than 5 stars if I could! My entire family loved it and can't wait to return! Still talking about it a month later!

• Our recent stay

  We stayed here to enjoy a family ski vacation. It is only about 10 minutes from Whiteface Mountain ski resort and about 20 minutes to Lake Placid. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. The house is a short driving distance to a small grocery store, a cute candy store and some restaurants. The home was well equipped. Thanks for a very pleasant experience.

  There are very few times I’m left nearly speechless when asked how my stay was but this is one of those times. This place was the gold standard for vacation rentals. Pictures don’t do the it justice as it is really in the middle of a beautiful undisturbed pristine forest area. Nature has been left to do her thing, truly a special place. I would have paid twice as much. The host really was prompt and courteous every step of the way. We usually go to Vermont to ski, this changes things for us.Grateful we found this gem.

• Perfect Home in Perfect Location

  This is such an awesome home! There is not one thing that isn't 5-star. We stayed here for the past two Thanksgiving weekends and enjoyed every minute.

• Wonderful stay!

  We loved Blackhaus and have already expressed interest in returning again someday. It was very private with a great backyard and patio area. While walking through the woods we found a swing and creek which was a fun surprise. The sauna was a big hit. You need to provide your own fire wood for stove and pit, so just keep that in mind. Andrew directed us towards a local store where we got some for cheap.

  House was clean, comfy and stylish. Kitchen was beautiful with any dish ware you’d need. We only used 2 of the beds, but they were very comfortable. The record player and sound system was such a fun touch that we used daily. Our daughter spent hours in the playroom loft.

  Andrew was the most interactive and responsive host I’ve ever dealt with. I never waited more than a couple minutes for a response. He was extremely accommodating, helpful in recommendations and truly wanted us to have a great time. I’ve stayed at many air b&b’s and he’s a dream host for sure.
