Beautiful setting overlooking the water. Quiet serene setting. Overall, eneything was fine. The beds were a bit older and basement bed was broken, had to fix the frame a couple of times. Refrigerator was pretty dirty.

Dirty kitchen, dishes and refrigerator upon arrival. Garbage found in cans, fruit flies in dishes, fingernail clippings in window sill. Worn out bed sheets with holes, Air conditioning not working properly and one shower head dribbled water. Several door handles and locks not functional. Serious cleanliness problems and very poorly maintained. Communicated these issues immediately with owner who responded with "I'm surprised." When I sent her pics, she stated that she was actually aware of some of the problems, but not willing to offer any remedy or partial compensation for our week long stay.

This is a wonderful home on the Long Island Sound. It is incredibly peaceful, and you feel right at home the minute you walk in the door. The home is perfectly situated just far enough off the beaten path, yet close to anything you could want or need. This is actually our second stay and plan to return next year too!

As we wrap up our stay, I wanted to share that the home itself is truly lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, especially while celebrating our daughter’s wedding weekend. The setting is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and we loved watching the deer visit each day. The host was an excellent communicator and could not have been kinder or more responsive throughout our stay.
I’d also like to offer a few suggestions that could make an already wonderful property even better for future guests. The cleaning crew could use a bit more attention to detail—there were some coffee grounds in a kitchen drawer, the refrigerator could use a quick wipe-down, and the floors weren’t as clean as expected. A few additional kitchen essentials such as a toaster, butter knives, and mixing bowls would be great additions for guests who enjoy cooking breakfast.
The upstairs bedroom mattress was very comfortable, but the king bed in the basement and the pull-out couch were less so. The basement bedroom was also missing the rug shown in the listing photos. Many of the pillows throughout the home were stained and should be replaced (I noticed this when stripping the beds per the checkout instructions). Additionally, the basement TV could use an update—there’s no remote, and the side buttons don’t allow navigation to connect to the internet. The Wi-Fi itself was strong and reliable, though the main floor TV occasionally struggled to stay connected.
Overall, this is a beautiful home in a stunning location with a gracious and communicative host. With a few small updates, it could easily be a five-star experience.
The view from the deck was my favorite. I spent a lot on f time out there!
