9 Mi to Lake George Village: Home in Queensbury

  UNINHABITABLE! Upon entering the home there was an obnoxious musty odor coming from within. I went to the basement and found black mold throughout, a clogged furnace filter along with dead bugs in the furnace filter chamber and a clogged cold air return vent. Upstairs the kitchen ceiling fan was caked with old dust, left over food on the kitchen counter, clothes left behind from previous people. The bathroom has mold surrounding the tub, the chrome plating on the sink fixture is peeling resulting in sharp edges. Mold on the floor under the rug at the basement access door. We were forced to stay elsewhere due to the unhealthy conditions listed above. I have gone through VRBO in the past, but I'm now questioning their reputation. How can such a disgusting home be listed on their site? VRBO needs to have higher standards as to what is allowed. Perhaps stricter guidelines requiring recent photos of critical home features. Shame on the Host company for not personally inspecting their properties on a routine basis. This level of neglect does not happen overnight. This property went for months without proper maintenance. Thankfully with the help of Family, we had a great vacation and found excellent accommodations in Lake George.

  We take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
  - We’re sorry the home wasn’t in the condition it should’ve been for your stay—that’s not the standard we expect, and we’ve addressed this directly with our cleaning process.
  - We’re now working with a new cleaning team located closer to the property, who’s been asked to take extra care with inspections and upkeep—a full deep clean is also being done this week to reset the home.
  - We’ve replaced the furnace entirely and made sure the cold air return vent and filter chamber were cleaned thoroughly.
  - What looked like mold under the rug by the basement door turned out to be an old pet stain. That area is being evaluated for cleanup, and we haven't found any other mold, but if any is found, it will be taken care of right away.

  We had an excellent stay in Queensbury. Conveniently located close to Lake George Village and surrounding areas. Lots of great restaurants and shopping near as well. We came up for a small Can am Spyder Motorcycle rally in Saratoga Springs as well as the We loved the fact that we had a garage to keep our Motorcycles in at night out of the weather. We will definitely try and stay there again next time we come into town.
