Walk to Lake George Beach: Quiet Family Retreat

  The listing says 'within walking distance' of Lake George attractions. While the distance is short, it is not at all walkable, especially with two small children. Fort George Road is not a walkable road by any means.

  There were also some concerns with the space. The first floor bathroom did not have a latch on the door to close it, and the electricity was not working. There were two small battery powered lights in the bathroom. The outside space had potential, but were were displeased with the cleanliness of the backyard. The deck desperately needed to be cleaned. The space in the back was covered in leaves and sticks and looks like it had not been cleared for some time.

  The house also was not cleaned. We noticed a lot of cobwebs and bugs throughout the house. There was also food that we bought and brought into the house that was covered in ants the next day while it was left in the pantry overnight.

  The kitchen was also not adequately stocked. Lids did not match pots and pans, kitchen utensils while trying to cook were lackluster. Paper towels and toilet paper were provided, but the house had no tissues and napkins.

  Host was very quick to help when there was a plumping issue in the house.
