I had high expectations for this place. It seemed so welcoming with the farm animals and cute dogs! However, things turned weird really fast. There were flies EVERYWHERE. I’m not talking about outside, they were INSIDE and they were all barely alive?? The hosts did not welcome nor bid us farewell during our stay as most reviewers seem to have stated. We were very respectful of the place and even had to clean the bathroom and kitchen due to the amount of flies that were EVERYWHERE. The only reason I rated the place 2/5 stars is because of the puppies and dogs that were so happy to greet us. Realistically, it’s a good place to get away. However, the hosts failed to make us feel welcomed in any way and didn’t even respond when I brought this issue to their attention. I hope they can do better because it’s a cute farm.

    Manager's Response:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the friendly farm dogs during your stay. We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following:
    - Check-in took place during early morning hours, and while we try to greet guests when possible, we avoid disturbing those arriving overnight.
    - The home is located on an active dairy farm, and during fall months, some flies may be present; this is noted in our listing description.
    - We did receive your messages regarding the animals and the flies, and responded during daytime hours.
    - We appreciate your understanding, as we balance guest hospitality with the daily operations of our working farm.
We’ll continue doing our best to make each guest feel welcome and comfortable during their visit.

We were very happy with our stay in the quiet and lovely rolling countryside. We didn't expect a perfect spotless place, and we didn't get it, and that's perfectly OK. This is a working farm with a large family, plus the usual chickens, sheep, dairy cows, and several very friendly dogs! It's a well-lived-in one-floor apartment above a large basement. The sleeping arrangements were nice for just two of us. It'd be pretty tight quarters for 6 people IMO. We also had a couple of lovely morning walks. Just wish we could have timed our comings and goings to be able to meet the whole family.

Neat experience to be staying right on a working farm. About 20 minutes to Cooperstown.

This met our needs as a home base for a few days in Cooperstown. It was an enjoyable drive to and from Cooperstown where we visited the Baseball Hall of Fame. We enjoyed seeing all of the farm animals. The apartment could use some cosmetic updates, but the beds were comfortable and clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
