The husband and I stayed here for the 2nd half of our 20yr wedding anniversary trip. It was our first time visiting Great Sacandaga Lake. Even though the water levels were really low (late September) we were still able to get out on the water…. did some fishing, explored Sand Island and even caught an amazing Pike. House was very clean and kitchen stocked well, check in was extremely easy! Brian the neighbor was super friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

My family had an amazing vacation at this lake house!! It was very clean and spacious for our family of 8!! One of the best parts was the huge beach! The kids were able to play in the sand and it was not rocky. The owner is very friendly and easy to contact with any issues. Highly recommend this lake house for a relaxing and fun vacation getaway!!
The house is as advertised wonderfully relaxing and easy access to the water

Pristine, quaint, serene, etc. Camp. Hope to stay again next year.Fabulous communication. Absolutely everything anyone could ask for is provided. They even have a keurig type coffee maker And a drip type. The porch facing the lake was my favorite spot. So many beautiful birds serenade you. At night there are fireflies sparkling. The sound of the leafs on the trees rustling with the breeze is magnificent. I was "home" for my 56th Amsterdam High School Reunion. The location is easy to get to Amsterdam if you need to. My cousin took us on his pontoon boat and we saw 3 eagles in a nest on Sand Island.Honestly, I didn't want to leave.

Everything about this camp is wonderful.
I grew up in Amsterdam and wanted to rent a place for my 5 day stay, for my 56th reunion for WH Lynch HS, and spend some time with cousins, tend to my parents graves at Green Hill Cemetery, and just relax.
My favorite part was the large porch facing the lake, with a large table and chairs. I cherished my morning coffee on that porch, and listening to the peaceful sounds of birds, water lapping the shore and the fresh smell of nature. I recommend downloading the MERLIN APP, that identifies the beautiful birdcalls, making the experience even more enriching.
I brought some of my ancestry information with me and had a lovely lunch on the porch with some of my local cousins as we reminisced about growing up with each other in the 50's and 60's. We sat there for 4 hours enjoying the lake, despite a few light rain showers. My 83 yo cousin loved it the most !
The Cottage/Camp was equipped with absolutely everything. It even had a drip coffee maker AND a Keurig! Brent, the host, was terrific. He would be very proud of this Gem he owns.
The place was immaculate. It was equipped with EVERYTHING. The towels were lush, and they even provide beach towels! They also have kayaks. The queen size bed in the main room was very comfortable and faces the lake. There was AC but we didn't need it. The open window and the fresh air was all we needed.
The living room (and all the bedrooms) had a large TV and it was easy to navigate with ROKU.
The neighbors were TERRIFIC and so welcoming.
We didn't bring a boat, but one day one of my cousins picked us up at the camp dock in his pontoon boat and gave us a tour of the lake. We even saw a nest of 3 young bald eagles on Sand Island.
We picked up some food at Hannaford's on Rte 30. easy peasy. It's one of my favorite stores so I was happy to find one in Amsterdam.
The afternoon we arrived we went to Lakeside Tavern & Marina to eat. It is right on the lake and they have live music and Adirondack chairs along the channel to enjoy. Food was Great. Owned by the Lanzi Family. The reunion was at the Rustic Loft in Amsterdam. Great food. and we also went to Lorenzo's in Amsterdam for amazing Italian food.
Every aspect of our mini vacation was terrific. I look forward to perhaps booking again next year. My husband and I will miss it.
