  • Charming

    5/5

Charming little home with pretty decor. Lovely home right on the water. Walking distance to some local places. Winery is 1/2 mile down the road. Host is very responsive to texts and calls. We would recommend this rental. We would gladly use it again.

  • Perfect for a large family!

    5/5

Cottage was fully stocked. The house was big enough for a large family. Several games to keep the family busy on a rainy day. The host was great with communication. There was an issue with one of the showers and the host communicated immediately before we arrived to try and fix the issue. He did have to come back to work on the shower but was very polite to ensure he was not bothering us during our stay. The issue was resolved. Beds were comfortable. Are family had a good time. Close restaurants, ice cream stand. Great location to the Thousand Islands.

  • What a let down

    3/5

Booked what we thought was going to be an amazing place to stay with friends & family for the weekend , first and foremost the ad says free cancellation, which is false because I was contemplating cancelling a month out but would lose my 1000 deposit , so we didn’t cancel, So after going back and forth with travel agent with questions we asked about central ac and then were told Ac units only in bedrooms , which was a big NO for me as it’s the first week in Aug and humid AF !!!!! So that was misleading in the ad . When we arrived at the cottage it was so stale and hot humid inside , instantly so I was so disappointed and mad ! I would have never rented a house for 3000 a week with no damn ac in the main areas , we were told there were fans , ha one little fan in the kitchen . The house was so damp and musty and then !!!!! The water at the doc was so filled with seaweed the kids couldn’t even move on the boogie boards and our boat struggled getting in and out of the bay and dock each time !!! Morning two I get a text from owner asking us to not have camp fires any longer because the Neihbor is apparently allergic to camp fire smell , “ we specifically asked about fires”because we like to have them !! The bathroom doors looked almost everyone in them and the upstairs shower doesn’t drain and isn’t suitable for a grown human , you had to duck to be under the shower head !! The rooms all had trip hazards at every entry and caused many trips and stubbed toes , I want to say the view was amazing but nope , over grown weeds blocking the view , we couldn’t even see our boat from the deck .. I could go on but those are the major things that I’m very disapointed about

    Manager's Response:

Hi Shannon, we’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t live up to your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. The homeowner wanted to address some key points in your review:
-We notified the guest that there were AC units in all bedrooms but only fans for the downstairs common areas.
-The outdoor fire pit is not included with this property, and using one on the deck can pose safety risks, especially on composite materials. We communicated the neighbor’s concerns about the smoke due to a severe allergy, and we appreciate your understanding in adjusting the use of open flames.
-The seaweed levels in the bay can vary depending on the season and weather, especially during the warm summer months. We’re looking into ways to address this for better water access.
-The view of the bay remains as pictured in the listing, though there may be some seasonal growth affecting sightlines. We’ll review the landscaping to ensure the view remains as open as possible.
-Regarding the plumbing issues, the upstairs shower has been fully repaired, with both the drain and showerhead now functioning optimally.
We wish you had reached out during your stay, as we’re always ready to assist and make things right in real time. Your feedback is valuable, and we’re committed to making improvements to provide a better experience for future guests. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
