We really enjoyed our stay on the Santa Cruz Square. The history here is a treat to learn about. Historic church, eventful past. Comfortable home.
This place was a nightmare from day one upon arrival it looked like a dump outside dirty and run down and didn't get any better on the in side. Did not resemble the photos posted. My grand daughters were so upset made me feel bad for not renting a nice place for them to stay on a special occasion. The list of things wrong with this place is so long that I don't know where to start. Just a few are no key to the front door so anyone could brake in when we were gone bugs (a centipede) was in the kitchen sink and other bugs were spotted. Lights were burned out coffee maker didn't work beds were hard as a board and stained paint was dirty floors were dirty and made so much noise when you walked on em washing machine sounded so loud and shook bad hair dryer smelled like it was on fire place smelled dirty no ironing pad on the ironing board just to name a few list gets longer for the money to stay here 635 for three nights was so disappointing. From the owner: Hi Richars, we are so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our property. We're sorry to hear your granddaughters were not pleased with your choice.
- We wish you had let us know while you were at the property, but you only mentioned the centipede and ironing board. We are here for all our guests and would have done what we could to make your stay a good one.
- We offered to come by and take care of the centipede, but you said you had already taken care of it. We have the property sprayed by professionals regularly and have not seen any pests.
- While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences. The mattresses are firm, and they are new.
- We will replace the hairdryer.
- We did not put a cover on the ironing board that was just an oversight; we did offer to come by and bring you one, and you said you would just use a towel.
- There are 10 or more lights in the living room, and it can get very bright, so we turn some of them off. However, you can turn them on if needed.
- We have had a lot of high winds, perhaps that is why you felt the outside was dirty.
- We are in a very safe neighborhood and have never had any issues. The lockbox code has worked well for all our guests we do not feel we need a physical key.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
Property met our needs as it is near some great golf--ten minutes form the Black Mesa course. Kathryn was an amazing host. She is an outstanding communicator and an incredible source of local knowledge--stores, restaurants, activities, local history. Not a traditional property--words like funky, eccentric, or unique come to mind--but I use these words in a good way. We were three people, we each had our own bed and there was an additional bed we did not use. Photos do not capture the spaciousness of the property. Rooms are filled with art and interesting antiques. Kitchen is very functional. Good luck to Kathryn and her historical preservation efforts!
