We loved the elevated views and the house was good for us. 3rs time to Angel Fire and will be back.

The property is located away from the busier area's by being located higher up the side of the mountain. Less traffic and fewer other houses. Beautiful views of the valley.

Absolutely consider this as an amazing VRBO. Visited in June. The house is so open, you feel as if you’re always sitting outside. Incredible view – inside and outside- of Eagles Nest Lake and the mountains. If you need summer quiet and peace, look no further. The deck is large, and you are in the mountains. Chipmunks and crows/ravens will serenade and a wide variety of birds. You can hike/walk right on the property. Beautiful trees and rocks.
Amenities for cooking are far beyond what you expect. There is a supermarket at the base of the mountain and a couple of restaurants. If you prefer fast food, Angel Fire may not be for you. Some reviews mention a steep driveway. Not a problem at all, and much less of an incline than those you see driving up the mountain. No AC but the breeze was constant with windows open, so not a problem mid-June. Every room has a ceiling fan. Smart TV with all the apps loaded for your account(s). There are stairs, from the driveway, to enter the house. The deck/stairs have a gate you can lock if you have small ones.
The VRBO representative, Christine, was very available and checked in immediately upon our arrival.
There are marked trails for hiking by the home. About 18 miles down the mountain, in Cimmaron, there are pullovers with great scenery and the Palisades Sill is a must stop.
This was my first VRBO and I am truly grateful for the wonderful experience!!

We arrived on a Sunday and there had been no measurable snow for at least 4 days.
-4:23pm unshoveled drive caused our 4WD to slide back and pop a tire
-No reimbursement on tire or stay offered after we told the (not) local contact what happened. We were stranded in a parking lot with our kids (the tire was seized). No roadside assistances or ride shares were available. We were 9 hours from home
-930pm 5 hours after notified, the drive still ice covered
-2 flights of stairs leading to house not shoveled, deep and icy
-the lamps inside were unplugged and fans didn’t have working lightbulbs so it was dark
-unfolded filthy high chair sticking out of entry closet
-king size room is a loft with no door and not at all a bedroom
-unmade bed with dirty bedding on ‘clean’ bed
-gross bath floor mat on the couch
-no toiletries, used hotel ones left behind in the shower from priors
-enough propane for 20 minutes in the patio heater, none in the grill tank
-broken fireplace wouldn’t work even with their special instructions = cold inside & no fireplace
-main patio not shoveled and deep so we couldn’t use it, no shovel provided
-they showed up on the property unannounced twice and we had 4 children there
-you can’t talk privately outside because their cameras listen..yes they tell you but creepy and unnecessary
-no maps or info about nearby trails
We paid close to $600 a night for a 5 star home. We left our 30yr anniversary trip disappointed by expectations
