Our family of four began our summer vacation with a five-night stay at this beach rental property. The old family home featured many windows with a view of the boardwalk and the ocean, making it enjoyable to watch the people on the boardwalk in the mornings and evenings. The location was great, as the house was right next to the beach, allowing us to easily run back and forth for quick breaks during the day. The outdoor shower was in good condition and very useful. Having access to bikes and extra beach gear was a major plus, as it reduced the amount of packing we needed to do. The owner was helpful and responsive, answering all of our questions. The house has a lot of potential; with a few upgrades—such as updated mattresses and more comfortable seating in the living room—it could easily become a five-star review. Overall, we had a nice visit and appreciated the care the owner took to try to ensure we were comfortable.

The toilet was not cleaned, the bath towels were not visible. Had to talk to the owner to track them down. They were in the dryer still, in the garage, which you only have access to by going outside with a key and then lifting up a garage door. The power to a circuit in the kitchen kept going on and off, causing the WIFI modem, lights, counter-top appliances, stove, refrigerator and bedroom air-conditioner to continually reset. After the power did not come back on after hours, I went to the garage and reset all the breakers, which did not fix the problem. I talked to the owner and I was instructed to move the refrigerator to reset a surge suppressor behind it, which probably finally blew from a storm 2 nights before. Not anything I've experienced before, but I moved the refrigerator and it fixed the problem. Later that night as I was preparing to cook, a part of the kitchen faucet handle came off. Then the stove-top would not ignite, I gave up. This place is a little janky, is all I'm saying.
From the owner: "We are genuinely sorry to hear that Shauna’s experience wasn’t up to expectations. Our historic home has been the heart of so many cherished memories for our family over the past 75 years, and we truly want all our guests to create similar experiences.
We understand that the visit was particularly challenging, with last-minute cancellations from friends and family, as well as severe storms that affected Shauna’s stay. The storms led to several power outages, leaving the house without electricity for several hours. Please know that we had an electrician inspect the home, and it received a clean bill of health.
We did our best to accommodate Shauna during her stay, even fielding multiple calls, but unfortunately, we were unable to fulfill every request. Regarding the linens, while it’s typical at the shore for guests to bring their own, we made an exception and provided linens from our family’s personal supply. Post stay, several additional broken items were found/replaced."
my family and I enjoyed four nights in this home for Memorial Day weekend. The house was clean the beds were comfortable. Location, location, location is the name of the game here.. right on the boardwalk easy access to the beach & away from route 35. I would definitely recommend it

This house was the perfect stay for what we were looking for. Ideal location both for being beachfront and so close to restaurants, shopping & mini golf. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. The house itself was adorable and truly had that Jersey Shore feeling that I remember from every summer growing up. Bikes, beach chairs, and grill were all a nice plus. Can't wait to go back!
