  • Perfect for Solitude

    4/5

This is a perfect place to relax and get away from it all. The house was clean and well-stocked. Host was very quick to respond to any problems. If you’re looking to explore, Cape May is about an hour away and provided us with a fun day-trip. Be prepared for construction in the area as there are several properties being worked on. Nice view of the water from the deck.

  • Fantastic Stay!

    5/5

My sister and I spent 10 fun filled days at this lovely home. The queen bed in the first bedroom was sooo comfortable that I just wanted to lay in bed and watch tv. They even have a variety of firm and soft pillows. If you like to cook, the kitchen has just about everything you need to accomplish your task. They even have biscuit cutters and a manual pasta maker. There are spices and a few canned goods in the cupboards, a variety of plastic bags from sandwich to gallon size, parchment paper, and aluminum foil. All we really needed to bring was food and bottled water. This really is a nice home with four bedrooms, two baths and a laundry room in the basement. You will need to supply your own body soap, shampoo and laundry soap, but that’s about it. We had a great time here, even though the weather was crappy for about five of the ten days. The owner, Floyd, was quick to respond with any questions we had and was a pleasure to talk to. Thank you, Floyd, for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home.

  • Cute and roomy NJ surprise!

    5/5

Traveled from NC to visit family in Vineland and surrounding NJ. I lived in NJ for years and never heard of Fortescue. This is my first home rental and I was pleasantly surprised. The house looks like the pics and is still being updated also. The wood steps up to the entrance are a bit worn along with a cute but very strong bench on the landing. The front deck has repurposed wood, with some hardware from old fishing pole mounts - this really added to the atmosphere.

We could see and hear the water, and saw ppl fishing nearby. Everything we needed was supplied: kitchen appliances, pots, dishes, paper goods, a Ninja coffee maker and coffee accoutrements , seasoning (although some were too old to use), some condiments, foil and ziplocs, linen. There are 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers; one shower is much roomier than the other but both bathrooms are nice sized.

The main queen bedroom has a high mattress, then a 2nd Queen or full room that’s low; all bedrooms are simply but nicely decorated. The single twin room has a nautical theme; I’m a thick person but slept like a baby every night in that “cabin” bedroom.

There was a construction crew working on the road right in front of the house the latter part of our trip. They were so nice, they kept us updated with times and days, and even moved equipment and stopped working to let us pass.

Final thoughts before we head back to this great location again for Mother’s Day weekend - Floyd, the owner is very kind and helpful. He was offsite but available by call/ring cam immediately for any issues like key codes not working or questions we had. The cleaning crew missed a couple things we noticed, but cleaning supplies were there for us to do touch ups.
