Great Location - Listing Details Need Updating
4/5 My family of four stayed here for a week with a 3.5 year old and a 10 month old. It is a great location where you can easily walk to restaurants in Avon and Belmar. Lots of wonderful playgrounds around for young kids. We greatly enjoyed the front porch and views. The house was clean and had great amenities. The listing should be updated with additional items such as a washer/dryer and blender. These are things that were very handy but we were not expecting them so brought extra clothes.
We were taken aback by two things upon arrival. There is a resident living downstairs in the basement and this is not on the listing anywhere. The only way you would know is if you read the typed instructions on the fridge when arriving (which was not a priority unloading and watching small kids).
The listing states a maximum of 6 people overnight with no other restrictions outside of parties and large gatherings. We have friends (all in our 40s) with young children who live in town and planned to get together with them for pizza outside before they started the work week. Since we have the youngest baby, it was easiest for them to come to us. Again, there were additional details on the max occupancy (even outside of the house) on the fridge but not in the listing and we received an email violation which put a damper on our first full day. Everyone supervised their kids, guests left the yard by 9pm, no damage was done and no one stayed overnight.
Overall, it was a nice week and a convenient location. The listing needs to disclose the clear rules and that the house is shared. Had we known all of the details, we could have avoided a few awkward things.
