  • Great home in excellent location

    5/5

We loved our stay at the Story Homestead! Great history and hiking in the area. Fun, delicious places to eat. The house was perfect! A small issue when we arrived was solved within minutes by our host. Totally recommend staying here!

  • Wonderful holiday retreat to the mountains

    4/5

Just a perfect holiday retreat! Booked a get-away for us and our adult kids in New Hampshire. When we arrived the house was welcoming and tastefully decorated for the season - it was perfect. The house was clean, roomy with a well equipped kitchen and a solid wifi connection (very important) with all these digital adults.

We were visiting during the cold days of Dec/Jan but this old farmhouse stayed warm and comfy. The house is well furnished with space to visit and the ability to find solitude. Lots of outdoor space to play in the snow or hike the trails behind the house. We even pulled the sleds out for a couple of runs down the hill.

Recommend this for a quiet, enjoyable get-away. And don't forget to search for some hidden notes by the most recent time travelers ...

Had a lovely friendsgiving here, and enjoyed pancakes and fresh syrup for breakfast the next day.

  • Fun Adventure at the Story Homestead

    5/5

We stayed 10 days at the Story Homestead with our almost 2 year old. It was a really neat experience and it grew to feel like home. We were sad to leave at the end of our trip! The kitchen is fully stocked and we cooked a lot. The barn is full of yard games, boats, and other things for guest use. There was a closet full of toys, games, and books. We saw turkeys crossing through the yard in the morning and the history of the home made it feel charming. The only bathroom is in need of renovation, although the shower was newer. The carpets could also be replaced, especially upstairs. The master bed was very comfortable. The stairs, as described, are very steep so I'm not sure it would work for a big family since the only bathroom is on the first floor. My husband worked from the house for several days and the internet was fast enough for streaming and remote work. Overall, we really loved our stay and are missing it now that we're back in Pennsylvania!
