Upon arriving the driveway was not cleared of 2-3 inches of snow, the walks and stairs were slippery and no salt provided for when it rained and froze over night. There was a problem with the keypad but the host responded quickly with a key option to get in. The only TV in the house had no cable, non-working Roku, a DVD player with only animated movies. We brought our own Roku but could not connect to wi-fi to get it to work. Not sure if sheets were clean, not much for extra bedding to make up additional beds like blankets and sheets. The extra beds was a pull out chair and a futon cushion (Not a couch which didn't fit my 6'2" son) and the room it was in was freezing with no way to heat other than a wood stove with no wood or kindling provided. We would have brought some if we knew ahead. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart and not much in the way of dishes unless we used china in china cabinet which we weren't sure if we should use. The radiators were knocking, banging and hissing loudly all day and night. To the point my adult kids had to move out of the extra room to couches because it was so loud they couldn't sleep. Finally there were nails in the master bedroom that were sticking up so far that someone could rip open their foot on it. Big safety hazard.

The guest contact, Starr, was not timely in her responses to our questions via email, call or texts. The house was not prepared for our stay - no clear directions left about WiFi access, upstairs shower required a work-around to get hot water, there was only one kitchen towel, thermostat was auto set at 64 degrees at night when the temperatures were far below freezing outside, batteries had to be replaced in the thermostat one morning when we woke up to the inside house temperature of 50 degrees. The digital pad entry was unreliable; we charged the batteries and within two days it did not work again. A tenant in a neighboring in-law suite walked across the narrow porch of our unit, invading our privacy. The kitchen had random access to plates, cups, etc. with very cluttered drawers, cabinets & random food left in the freezer. The laundry room is a shared space, of which we were not aware in the Vrbo listing. We were told we would have TV access, but there was no fire stick and the owner said we could purchase one and he’d reimburse us! It took 20 minutes on the phone, with the owner, just to get the Blue Ray machine to work. The water pressure in the downstairs shower was horrible. Communication with the guest contact & owner required direct emails, texts or calls versus through Vrbo. This house has a lot of potential, but does not currently live up to Vrbo standards.

    Manager's Response:

"From the owner: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’d like to offer a bit of clarification for future guests. Wi-Fi information is provided in the home, and our guest contact is available by phone and text throughout the stay. The home is designed so guests can adjust the thermostat to their preferred comfort level, and amenities are reviewed regularly to ensure everything is well-stocked and ready. The property includes shared spaces that are noted in the listing, and privacy is always a priority for guests during their stay. I appreciate the feedback and continue working to make sure expectations are clear, and the experience is comfortable for future visitors."
