  We enjoyed our stay at the 1903 Stylish Vilas Hideaway with the beautiful upgrades. First of all, the owner sent me a welcome text the morning of our check-in. He wanted me to have his number if I needed assistance. He also gave us the opportunity to

  check-in earlier though we couldn't since we left after work.

  There were four adults and two children. The house was plenty big enough for all of us. The bathrooms all had soap and shampoo/conditioner to use. The laundry room had detergent just in case we needed to use it. We did use a tiny bit for my

  daughter-in-laws dress that she stained from the fire pit.

  When we arrived, the place was clean and there was a welcome smores basket. My adult son attacked the chocolate immediately. I loved where the internet information was placed in an easy spot. The Charlotte poster made me feel at home.

  I loved the open kitchen with the window and loved watching the sheep from the panorama view.

  The kitchen had everything I needed to cook my son's 37th birthday dinner.

  We were there to celebrate my daughter's graduation with her Masters so we weren't there much on Friday night but on Saturday, I made dinner and we enjoyed smores by the fire pit. Again, we even had a fire starter and outside blankets. The owners thought of everything.

  Also, the owners were generous and gave us an hour later check-out and we all left at 11:30. The extra time allowed us not to rush as we gathered all of our belongings to pack the car back to Charlotte.

  We had a wonderful stay at this house. Great location that allowed us to get to Sigar Mountain, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and West Jefferson for easy day trips. Beds are very comfortable and it had everything we need! Highly recommend for a family getaway!

• Outstanding property and management

  This is one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in. The location is great with a quick drive into Boone and proximity to banner elk and other places of interest. It’s easy to access yet when you pull down the long driveway you are in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. The views from the backyard are spectacular especially at sunset. The front of the house as a nice big wrap around porch that is a great spot to hang out. Also, the Neighbors have sheep that you can watch as well, so that was an unexpected treat.

  The house itself was perfect. The layout is great with plenty of space for our two families and kids. It’s extremely clean and tastefully decorated with lots of thought out detail.

  The management was exceptional, making our trip super easy and enjoyable, and the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

  It was a perfect place for us to spend the Fourth of July.

  Definitely hope to return for another stay!
