  Pros: the private location, outdoor space, screened in porch overlooking the sound, great covered dock

  Cons: the interior of the house. It needs thoroughly cleaned and updated. There was an overwhelming musty smell as soon as we opened the door. The internet/ streaming service very spotty. Also, it wasn’t clear to us when we rented this house that the owner lives in the lower apartment. She was gone for the week, so wasn’t an issue for us.

We understand how important reliable internet access is for our guests, and while this situation was beyond our control.
  -As the owner residing five hours away, I rely on my cleaning team to uphold the home's standards. After the house had been vacant for two weeks, they ensured it was fresh and thoroughly wiped down. We always provide our contact number for any questions and encourage guests to reach out as needed.
  -Concerning property updates, we continuously make improvements, and the majority of our guests have expressed their appreciation for the house. The kitchen is well-stocked to meet guests' needs, and we strive to maintain a high standard for all amenities.
  -The musty smell was likely due to the unusually heavy rainfall we experienced recently. We prefer to avoid excessive use of chemicals on the floors or in the air purely for scent. Our focus is on maintaining a clean and dry home, which we believe is most important for a comfortable stay.
  -The downstairs unit is not a residence; it serves as a vacation space for our family, although we rarely have the opportunity to use it. We want guests to be aware that there is a separate unit downstairs, which is not part of their rental. We encourage guests to review all listing details to ensure expectations align with the property offering.

  Our only issues were lack of an opening on the deck to get into the boat and there’s apartment under the main house. There was also a moldy smell in the house so we kept the windows open. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

• Could be Better

  The property location is what we were looking for. The property needs some updating and we had an electrical issue that needs to be permanently corrected. The owner of the property was doing everything she could do to get the problem rectified, but it will take additional work to rectify the issue so that there could not be issues in the future. She was in constant contact with us , but the situation could not be completed during our stay. For the most part, the property was clean but the window sills were very dirty. The appliances were relatively new. The steps to the home were hard to navigate and we had to be very cautious.
