The place was ok. Pretty clean minus the bugs. So many bugs it was insane. They have a bug light inside right at the front door that attracts bugs. Does not get rid of them. The whole place smelled like bug spray.

From the owner: "Thank you, Helen, for your feedback. To clarify, the spray used does not have an odor. Unfortunately, being located right on the water, certain environmental factors are unavoidable. We also have the exterior regularly treated to help mitigate this.
That said, I must address a serious issue:
You violated our No Pet Policy. After your departure, the unit had a strong dog odor and required multiple deep cleanings to make it suitable again, especially for future guests who may have pet allergies.
Pet hair was found throughout the unit, including on the sofa, beds, shower, floors, rug, and even on our new patio set which you were only the second guest to use. Additionally, there was spilled soda on the outdoor sofa that caused permanent staining; the covers now need to be completely replaced. Dog food was also found scattered around the unit.
"
I knew this VRBO was a not a resort-level home when i booked it. It's an old structure with a discount remodel. Old but clean inside. Water was hot. Central HVAC kept the inside very comfortable. Big screen TVs accept screencast so i could use my own streaming services. I recommend arriving for checkin during daylight just b/c the parking area and walkway are not well defined. Mostly, I greatly appreciated the immediate, helpful attention via text msg of the property contact, Kisha, especially concerning early checkin and the low battery chirp from one of the 3 smoke detectors. A low cost place 16 minutes to VIR.
Listing shows old pictures. You can't swim from the propert.

The lake house was clean for the most part.Me and my wife had a good time there, only problems we had was the nats getting into the house at night from the top of the front door, and 2 of the stovetop aisles didn't work.
