Mice in the house, dusty, unresponsive owners/housekeeper
1/5 We were so looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, the very first night we saw two mice run across the floor while we were watching tv. We reached out to the owner and the housekeeper by email, these were the contacts listed. We received no response. We woke up the next morning because we heard what sounded like rodents running around. It was a distinct sound of a small animal of some sort scuffling around. The next day I reached out by text. I even sent a picture of a mouse in the house. We still received no response. I called the Evolve team. The lady I spoke with was very helpful and sent an email stating that a pest control person would be out the next day. Pest control did not come and the owners and housekeeper did not reach out our entire stay. The home was beautiful and had a lot of neat decorations in each room. I don’t believe the decor had been dusted in quite some time. There was a lot of dust on surfaces. The home looked to be spot cleaned prior to our arrival. The trash can in the kitchen had gunk on the inside and outside. It almost looked like butter or some sort of lard. I wiped the outside of it, but did not deep clean the inside of it. The master bath towels smelled like they had sat in the washing machine too long. I tried to wash, fold and put away as many of them as I could while I was there. Overall, we could have overlooked some of these things and still left a nice review as the dust and sour laundry are not a reflection of the home and owners, but the housekeeping service they use. Our poor review is due to the fact that we were ignored about mice in the house. I did not anticipate traveling to a beautiful place like Sapphire Valley and sleeping with mice scampering and leaving their droppings about.
