Just 4 blocks away, you'll find the Oak Island Nature Center on the Intracoastal Waterway, which features pier fishing, picnic tables, and walking paths. It's also the perfect place to watch ships come and go! There's a convenient boat ramp located a couple of blocks away for those who brought their kayak, paddleboard, or boat along for the trip.
Long Beach is a 15-minute walk from your front door. Grab your sunscreen and towel before making the quick ride or walk over. Enjoy all of your favorite coastal pastimes, including shelling, sunbathing, and long walks on the shoreline.
Bring your clubs and practice your swing at the Oak Island Golf Club, located 9 minutes away. After 18 holes of golf, treat yourself to happy hour at the Lazy Turtle Bar and Grill or head back into town to dine at one of the numerous restaurants, including Jone's Seafood House and Turtle island - both just 4 minutes from the cottage.

Family Vacation
5/5 We really enjoyed our stay a Peaceful Cottage!! This was our first time to Oak Island so we did not know anything about the area. The cottage was in a great location as far as quiet neighborhood and close to everything. However, I would have liked to have been closer to the ocean. I don't recommend walking to the beach, especially with little ones, it is a long walk and the main road is busy! The cottage did have some supplies like a beach wagon, chairs, boogies boards which would have been nice to know ahead because we brought most of those things with us. Overall, the property had all that we needed and was perfect for our stay! I especially loved how clean it smelled as we opened the door!

Brothers weekend
3/5 Nice layout and well supplied kitchen . Overall an okay place for my brothers and I, but I'm not sure it would pass muster if our wives had been along. Carpet needs to be cleaned to remove stains or replaced entirely. Floor in living room had dirt around the area rug. Lazy Susan in corner cabinet in kitchen had crumbs and debris on shelves.
