  • Peaceful and Perfect!

    5/5

We took 14 people (3 families) to the mountains for a week long retreat from our church. We couldn’t have picked a better place! The home was amazing and the river was a great place to spend time and enjoy the water. The outdoor fire pits created fun memories, and the bed swing on the screened in porch was one of the most relaxing and peaceful places to sit in the morning with a cup of coffee as you listen to the flowing water from the river reading God’s word. The house provides plenty of space and privacy. Everything was top notch! We can’t express enough what a blessing this was for our small church group. Thank you for providing such a beautiful home to us it was everything we needed❣️

Wonderful home with natural beauty and a great view of the Hiawassee river down hill. The house boasts 5 bedrooms with comfortable beds and lots of entertainment options including pool table, ping pong and cornhole. All the guests in my party thoroughly enjoyed the stay

First, the owner is overly caring and responsive to your needs. They let us know before arrival that storms had knocked out power in the area, but stayed in touch constantly with power company updates. All questions were responded to in a matter of minutes. Instructions for the stay were clear and comprehensive. Before, during, and after the stay, they made sure we were attended to. This was greatly appreciated.Secondly, the house is beautifully appointed and stocked with everything you need. The owners also provided plenty firewood needed for this frigid weekend. We especially enjoyed the old, remote logging road trail at the bottom of the property where you can walk along the river for almost a mile. The fire pit down by the river provides the perfect late night setting (if it wasn’t in the low 20s). Instead, the family enjoyed the fire pit directly behind the house, cornhole set, ping pong table, and board games provided. Bathrooms were clean and had heating fans, which was a nice surprise. Bedrooms were spacious and cozy. One plus in our situation was parking space. Family coming from multiple locations had ample space to access the front door - we had 5 cars amongst 15 people in this cabin that sleeps 16. Location is quite perfect being only 10-15 minutes from Walmart or Ingles. The cabin is close to small-town Hayesville, larger town Murphy, and not much further to Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee. All felt close enough to spread our wings and explore. Fires Creek is worth the stop for a beginner hike with waterfall and bridge visit or a lunch picnic.Overall, this place is just about perfect. If I only had once suggestion being picky, I would suggest more seating in the living room with sleeping arrangements for 16. However, we made that work and will take away lots of memories from our stay in this mountain gem. Highly recommend any time of year!
