Small bathroom, small, small shower, a little dinky rinky kitchen, no dust pan, had to dry everything 3-4 times. I paid over 700$ come on people you can do better!

July 30-Aug.2, 2023The only thing positive about Hannah’s Place was its proximity to the beach and its wifi. The apartment was a great disappointment. The kitchen was dirty with rust covered cabinets. A 1950’s style metal refrigerator served as a cabinet with dirty pots, pans, dishes & flatware thrown in (I had to hand wash all dishes & flatware before using). The refrigerator itself had a coat of grease on the top and an old dirty filter. There were only 2 adult forks & 2 water glasses available, and no wine cork screw. The stove is so old & rusted out you couldn’t see how to regulate heat. Only 3 burners worked. The kitchen faucet leaked at the base when fully turned on. Outside was a dirty grill with an empty propane tank. The bathroom water pressure was weak and the toilet drained slowly. We had to plunge it on several occasions. Also the bathroom had only a ½ roll of toilet paper. Additionally, there were no cleaning supplies; not a broom nor a vacuum. The outside light was not working and evidently has been the case since 2020. The walls & flooring (no rugs or carpeting) are so thin we got very little sleep due to the late night/early morning partying with the people upstairs.

    Manager's Response:

From the owner: "Hannah’s Place offers the best pricing, for a two-night minimum stay, for a large one bedroom, so close to our beautiful Emerald Isle beach. We provide a beach wagon, beach chairs, large umbrella, and a boogie board, snorkel mask, and swim goggles. Many families enjoy the kitchen décor with all necessary appliances and with a private clothes washer and dryer. Before anyone arrives, we completely clean the refrigerator, oven, appliances, pots, pans, dishes, and flatware. An entire utensil set is in the lower left cupboard. There are two private grills: charcoal and gas, both are regularly cleaned and the propane tank is full. The water pressure is strong, kitchen faucet has no leaks, toilet works well, and we provided 3 rolls of toilet paper, and an array of cleaning supplies including a vacuum, broom, and cleaning items, which are all in the bathroom closet. The outside light was replaced in 2020 and works fine. We replaced the carpets with beautiful wood flooring because vacationers prefer wood flooring, it’s easier to clean, carpeting is dated, and Hannah’s Place is pet friendly. At any time, 24-hours-a-day, you could have called our property manager, to get extra supplies or resolve any matter, but never called and stayed the entire time at the property, because Hannah’s Place is wonderful and has no issues. Hannah’s Place is 30 yards away from beach access; you can see the ocean and hear the waves break on the shoreline. We hope you visit, with your pet."

  • Would NOT recommend!!!

    1/5

I typically don’t leave reviews EVER because I’m not hard to please and don’t require anything fancy and no place is perfect! The location and the fact I could bring my pet were the only two things I can say were good about the accommodations. The shower has no place to put your items, barley accommodates 1 person. I was skeptical to cook in the kitchen as the appliances were not appealing to cook on or in. The electrical was a bit sketchy as the lights in and out dimmed on and off often. A water hose is not a outside “shower”! If I have to pay a large cleaning fee it should be turn key. I do not want to use someone else’s left over shower and hygiene items which have been left from past renters!! We had to get our own batteries for remotes and air fresheners to drown the musty smell. A mattress upgrade would be very fitting for the queen bed, a mattress topper is not an update. It COULD be a nice place IF there were upgrades AND some maintenance done. The property manager was very efficient in helping with a curtain falling situation upon arrival, the location was great and the towns people are very friendly however I would not stay at this location again and I will not recommend it to anyone else.

    Manager's Response:

Hi April, thanks for taking the time to leave this review! After reading your feedback the homeowner wanted to share the following:
-"We are committed to ensuring that all our guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay while feeling at home. We respectfully request that our guests, including yourself, adhere to our established house rules and treat the property with the same level of care and consideration as they would their own.
-Regrettably, in this specific case, you brought your dog without paying the required pet fee. We also noticed some damage to the curtains.
-We are conveniently situated just 30 yards from beach access, offering the opportunity to view the ocean and appreciate the tranquil sounds of waves along the shoreline.
-The apartment boasts a delightful scent, thanks to our recent replacement of all carpets with beautiful new wood flooring, allowing the fresh salty beach air to envelop you.
-For our guests' convenience, we provide a beach wagon, beach chairs, a spacious umbrella, a boogie board, a snorkel mask, and swim goggles to enhance your beach experience. Families particularly appreciate our well-equipped kitchen, complete with all the necessary appliances, as well as a private clothes washer and dryer.
-Our shower is ample for single-person use, and we ensure that each new guest finds new toothpaste, deodorant, and other essentials. An "outdoor wash station" is conveniently available at the front of the property.
-The mattresses provide a high level of comfort, and the remote controls seamlessly operate the flat-screen Smart TVs, offering complimentary access to Netflix and Sling. Additionally, guests can take advantage of the reserved charcoal and gas grills as well as the outdoor picnic area for their enjoyment.
We genuinely believe that Hannah's Place offers unbeatable value for your stay so close to the beautiful Emerald Isle beach."

  • Great beach stay

    5/5

It's hard to find dog friendly accommodation's at EI with out renting a whole house, so Hannah's place was a unique find for us as we made our plans very last minute. Super convenient to also be able to book by the day and not by the week. The bedroom and living room had plenty of space for two folks and two medium size dogs. We loved the big picture window with views of the water. Our dogs loved being able to say Hi! to everything that came down ocean drive! Beach access was a 1 minute jaunt across the street. Kitchen and bath are definitely efficiency style, but we were able to make some great meals in there using the top of the washer for extra prep space! The only things we wanted for were an out door shower or rinse station, ( there is a hose, it was fine) and a clothes line for your soggy beach wear. The building manger was a simple text away for any questions. We will definitely be back.

Rental was clean. Kitchen was small but adequate. Seemed to be a good neighborhood. Would definitely consider staying again in the future.
