The Viewpoint Cabin at Settlers Mountain is a destination in itself if you're visiting Bryson City and the Smoky Mountains. The views from the porch are amazing, so it's a wonderful place to stay. We've been coming here three years in a row, since it's private and secluded, but also super close to town and central to most activities in the area. We lucked out finding this place, and will definitely continue coming back.
Beautiful wood around, can hike some trails on property, huge mountain land

This is the best property we have ever stayed in. The house is gorgeous, the view is unbeatable, and the atmosphere is grand and cozy. This home feels loved and cared for. There were, for example, hummingbird feeders on the wrap around porch. We received personalized chocolate and there was a well-thought-out guest book with a focus on information for visitors (rather than just rules). The garage is an entertainment haven. A poker table, chips, pinball machine, ping pong table, and more! Although we spent every night on the porch! The sunset each night was incredible. We did not even want to go out in the evening because there was no better place to enjoy the view. The location is fantastic. Close to Bryson City shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores. Close to the Park, including white water tubing and trails, the Oconaluftee Indian Village, and many places to white water raft and zip line. There are also many prime hiking spots outside of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (esp for visitors with dogs who are restricted from the trails) as well as two on site trails! The Jack rabbit trail is steep and peaceful. We did not try the other one in-site but it is easier and connects with the Jack Rabbit. The home also has a touching family story about Settler’s Mountain, the family’s vacations and evolving homesites on the property. We did not want to leave.

We had an AMAZING TIME at “View Point” cabin!!! The view was just “to die for”, not just from the porch but living room as well. We loved the short visits of the humming birds coming to feast on the nectar. The cabin was very clean, and the decor just right. It was equipped with most everything needed and the small touches were memorable and much appreciated: coffee available for your first cup just in case you forgot your own. Even olive oil and salt and pepper. I don’t think anything was missing. The garage game area was great for our young adult sons and we even joined them in a corn hole game. The Wi-Fi was the only thing glitchy but the cell phone service was good so we had no problems. At first, I wasn’t sure about a single TV available in the living room only, but it turned out that it kept us together for the evening movie or TV show viewing. Kevin was available to communicate and provide if anything was needed: the gas tank was low and one was provided promptly. We truly LOVED our stay, and will definitely return when visiting the Bryson City area!!!
Viewpoint, with its flexible bedroom accommodations, was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 2 children, and a toddler. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with flowers, chocolate, and a text from the owner, who was responsive to any questions we had during our stay. With its well stocked kitchen, ample gathering spaces, and comfortable furnishings, this was an ideal location to host other members of our extended family who stayed in other cabins on Settlers Mountain. We all enjoyed the magnificent, constantly changing views from every room in the home as well as the large covered porch where birds were abundant. The game room was an added bonus where we had lots of fun. Without hesitation, we would stay at Viewpoint again.
